Soul manip, and chi manip

I have a question about a two similar powerset and how/if they can affect one another.

If character A has Soul Manip, could their abilities work on someone (character B) who has Chi Manip?

Would they be able to absorb ki/chi blasts for example, since ki is essentially spiritual energy that comes from the soul?

Depends on how the setting handles Chi. Sometimes, Chi isn't Spirit Energy, but bio energy or some kind of non-mystical substance. The way I interpret Chi with my headcanon and hyper-verse equalizations that I toy around with and add to my own verse(s), Chi is usually, like, the Spiritual Energy of the individual Soul, where as Magic would be the "Chi" of the Environment/Cosmos I guess...? Point is, if Chi is Spirit Energy, then, maybe.
