So what do you guys think about Super Mario Bros Z. I watched the first two episodes of the reboot and figured they would be a good conversation starter.

Metallix actually has aura and is hype so he deserves the praise (unlike Metal Jobber).

Eh, I disagree on that. If we wanted "Metal Sonic but a threat", we have Neo Metal. I don't find the appeal of 4 hours of Metal Sonic pulling power out of his ass and beating everyone.

He always is. I also feel the same regarding Shadow cuz people don't treat him like a speedster, they treat him as someone who only teleports and never uses his speed that's canonically as fast as Sonic's.

I theorize that people do that to balance out the rivalry, whether they intend to overlook his speed or not

Which brings me back to this

SMBZ is iconic, but I didn't like how they had Shadow be essentially the better of both Sonic and Shadow considering that they're typically stated to be equals.

I mean, this wouldn't even be a problem if they just fought in a different way. It's not like Sonic would get overshadowed anyway due to them being the same in pretty much all relevant stats excluding stuff like the inhibitor rings (which I don't like to bring up in Sonic V Shadow debates). There'd be no need to balance them if people made sure they didn't fight the exact same way.

This just seems like you being a hater, bro. You did this with Death Battle stuff despite not even watching the episode. It ain't even about how many times they win a battle, it's about what they bring to the table and the depth they have. Even Modern Metal has more than just "I am going to KILL Sonic".

Yeah, it doesn't even seem like something he'd do. People bringing that up are braindead to any form of media literacy or character analysis.

Shadow, I will say, seems to have a few more innate power-ups he can use like Chaos Boost and his Hero and Dark Modes. I forget which other innate power-ups he has that Sonic doesn't have (not counting Doom Powers cuz those are on Limited Time-isms).

Yeah, I don't like how they have Shadow ONLY use these basic-ass Chaos moves lol. I hardly see him use Chaos Magic, Chaos Burst, Chaos Lance, Chaos Rift, Roaming Chaos, etc. Like, I'm hard-pressed to see people animate Shadow using his Chaos Powers in a cool, unique way that looks awesome. Instead, it's long pauses with Shadow charging a Chaos Spear and him teleporting for the Nth's time, him stopping time and hitting someone, just boring stuff that's more tired than anything.
