If people think intangibility makes more sense than non-corporeality for Solaris then I can go with intangibility.

The Low-Godly thing is weird since it's based on another application of Darkness Manipulation, being Non-Corporeal Mephiles just creating himself a body from someone else's shadow.

Also, despite one being part of another, Mephiles and Solaris seem to function very differently as entities.

Re-watched the whole Mephiles story, and I believe that he's in fact not Non-Corporeal in his formless form.

He was always a liquid, and he simply used Shadow's shade to take shape.

And when the scan posted above says that he "may lack a physical form", it probably means that he doesn't have an actual shape as he's some sort of black liquid, rather than being Non-Corporeal.

This doesn't look like liquid to me. Not to mention the way he's able to appear out of thin air.

Except it actually does at 1:01 and 16:45 in that same video.

And when he appears and disappears like that seems more like he's just materializing/de-materializing from in/from a certain place rather than actually healing or getting injured. That gas seems more like some sort of energy that he emits.

Oh yeah he can enter a liquid state, but he also takes on a gassy appearance.

The materializing thing is likely where the "it may not be a material being at all" comes from. Now if someone wanted to say that was just teleportation, he already teleports by creating energy spheres, and the scene where he absorbed Shadow's reflection, he was there that whole time.

The Energy spheres serve to Time-Travel.

And again, I believe that by "not material" means that he can become some sort of dark substance like that.

What about Mephiles representing Solaris's mind though?

Exactly, he represents his mind:

When he was split, he was split into two beings: Mephiles, who represented his mind and intelligence, and Iblis, who represented his strength.

Mephiles does indeed have Solaris' intelligence and memories, but he is not a literal disembodied, non-corporeal consciousness. Same thing with Iblis. he does represent Solaris' power, but he is still a physical being, not the disembodied concept of Solaris' 2-C/2-B AP

That's just Mephiles being able to hide in Shadow's... Shadow.

I don't know if he can do that to anyone or just to Shadow because of his link with him, but that's another application of Darkness Manipulation.

I'll see if I can find anything else though.

Because a shadow/shade isn't corporeal, and he's able to hide inside of it. And by "corporeal", he means his natural state.
