society is like a box of chocolates

Isn't Gump like, super skilled as a soldier? I haven't seen Joker, but what are Arthur's gun skills like?

Gump logically wouldn't try to kill him at first, Joker should get the first shot, and that's what matters imo

Um, Forrest is a trained Vietnam soldier. Why would he not shoot first? Not to mention SBA does away with those restrictions anyhow

Just cause the character is willing to kill doesn't mean they'll go for the kill immediately. And though he is a trained soldier, he's also a friendly person. In a casual encounter, he won't shoot until he realizes Joker is going to shoot him.

@Armorchompy He is easy to fool, but that definitely doesn't mean he'd try to be friends with an obvious assailant. Tell me one time he just goes "Well howdy there, psychopathic killer! My mamma always said to be friends to creepy men with guns that I am supposed to kill!" If anything, he is shown to be more of an objective focused person.

Yeah, that's fair enough. He's not stupid, just easy to trick.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Joker DID manage to manipulate him, but the odds of that are overall pretty low imo. I still think the Joker should take it though. Gump has better weaponry (which is kind of weird imo), but the Joker is a lot smarter, possibly more accurate, and has very high pain tolerance.

Didn't Forrest run across the Vietnam forest with a bullet in him multiple times?

So he can be fine with like, a single shot, right? Idk, given his better arsenal, RoF, combat experience, and still viable pain tolerance, I think Forrest can kinda take it. Not voting yet

Yes, but, Joker's feats sound a little better in that regard to me. Anyway, my previous post wasn't a vote, saying this cause it might sound like one.

As much as I love Forrest, he's not exactly a genius. In character, he'd probably think the lanky dude dressed as a clown wasn't a threat, and Joker in character wouldn't just shoot Forrest the second he saw him (Plus, the fact that he has a gun would definitely make that the case.) Joker would either run and hide, trying to gun Forrest down from a safe distance, or try to pretend to be a normal clown until Forrest does something to piss him off, at which point he could probably wrestle the gun out of Gump's hand and kill him. Even if they just charged at each other guns blazing, Joker could probably survive a gunshot or two and land a killing blow on Forrest, his higher durability and pain resistance would give him a better chance of surviving a Western style showdown than Forrest's.

I still think Joker would win Mid-Difficulty...

I'm going for Joker. It's actually in character for him to just immediately shoot. Look at his final kill. He just shoots the guy several times until he dies. Especially now that Joker doesn't care if people dies or not. Even if he ends up in jail. It won't matter to him.

Pistols are more accurate than assault rifles at long range.
......................................................................What ?

Well, since Forrest has a Vietnam-era M16- if it jams he gets stomped. If it doesn't jam he stomps since taking on a trained soldier with an assault rifle with a .38 special snubnose revolver is a way of committing suicide.
