Slight upgrade for the Chaos Gods

So... The Four Gods of Chaos are currently ranked at Multi-Solar System level.

This is because of the fact that, aside from the creation of System-encompassing Warp Storms throughout the Galaxy, the Eye of Terror is a gigantic Warp Rift in the galaxy encompassing numerous space sectors, each composed of multiple Solar Systems]

Compare the size of the Eye of Terror with the size of the Milky Way Galaxy:

Map One, Map Two, Map Three.

However, since the beginning of Warhammer 40,000: 8th Edition, the Eye of Terror has significantly changed. It is now the Cicatrix Maledictum, more commonly known as The Great Rift. See it for yourselves:

GreatRift
It is literally so massive it is splitting the Galaxy in half. And all those black points are Warp Storms happening throughout the Galaxy.

Because of this, I think that the Chaos Gods' Tier in the Materium should be changed to "At least 4-A, 3-C as of the 42nd Millennium" (The Great Rift opened when The year 40,999 ended)

Thoughts?

Hang on

Is the Milky Way used as the standard for the 3-C rating?

Because splitting it in half like in that image, where there's just a line of Warp through the middle, doesn't seem like 3-C. Just seems like a really high level of 4-A

Well, warp storms are opening up all over the place across the galaxy. I'm fine with 3-C.

And all of those warp storms was opened by a single god?

If they are sharing the load so to speak, its still just high level 4-A

Still looks like a high level of 4-A to begin with. A bunch of blotches throughout the galaxy and a line through ti doesn't seem like full on galaxy sized

Just playing the devil's advocate.

But is destroying the milky way the standard for 3-C?

Or so it seems.

I'm fine with the upgrades. The map does seem to allude to a galaxy-sized Rift.

The 4-A/3-C stats are their physical influence outside of the Warp, they don't actually exist in realspace.

I still have to disagree with this. Cutting a swathe through the milky way =/= destroying an entire galaxy.

Galaxy level is being generous. Devastation of Baal says that the Great Rift's creation affected infinite universes.

So the fact that this great rift is opening is a sign of the Chaos Gods' increased power / Emprah's decreased influence?

To be fair the "Affecting infinite universe of multidimensional space" is the ripple the Great Rift has on the Warp.

This is referring to an upgrade to their restricted power in the Materium though right?

The God Emperor is still managing to hold them back enough that they haven't just destroyed the galaxy, which I'm pretty sure would happen fairly quickly if they had overpowered him to the extent that each individual warp god was 3-C

The Emperor isn't the only thing restricting the Chaos Gods, there are plenty of things at play there. The whole galaxy is split in half with a galaxy-sized warp rift and there are smaller warp storms everywhere.

Even then, if the Emperor was even doing half the work in holding back all the 3C chaos Gods, he would be 3C

I should note that the Warp is a nightmarish world where physics & logic don't mean anything. It's also convoluted enough to be freakishly unreliable in-universe & out.

I still don't

If the Chaos Gods were 3-C even with the Emperor holding them back, they would have just wiped out the entire imperium by now.

@Monarch

GeoM is just one of the things holding them back.

Plus, if they were 4-A, they would also have done it already. I don't think that's a valid argument.

If the Chaos Gods were 3-C in realspace, even while restricted by whatever, why would then not have just snapped their fingers and wiped out all other opposition?

because that's not their goal. They don't want to blow up the galaxy, they want to spread their domain over it. They want to have worship, sacrifice, dominion, territory. Destroy the galaxy and there's no longer any galaxy to dominate.

Also they don't even exist in Realspace nor interact with it directly. This rating is for their influence in the Material Universe, which is galactic in scale.

Regardless, splitting a galaxy in half and then turning the remaining galaxy into a swiss cheese of warp storms is 3-C.

even before it was already galactic in scale.

Regardless of the fact that there's numerous statements that if the Emperor died, all space, time and matter of the galaxy would cease to exist and only chaos would remain.
