Skeptics on powerscaling?

While I personally think that powerscaling (especially done right) is an amazing method of figuring out character's power, there is something I've been noticing.

At least outside of this wiki, there are some out there (like other places) that seem to pan powerscaling and think that it doesn't work. I know that it may take some effort to do powerscaling properly but why are some out there are against it? This is worse especially when some series out there (at least in their own universe) even encourages powerscaling despite being implied in one way or another.

So what your thoughts on this and what do you guys think could be the reason why?

I'm personally not sure if this should go to Q&A or as a general discussion but this is more of asking and maybe having people share their thoughts about it.

Because of Death Battle/people can't seem to accept that you can fight planet busters without destroying planets with each of your attacks.

I'm just gonna say it though, not using powerscaling is approving of the idea that characters do not use their full power in fights. Thus meaning that they won't use their full power in VS Fights. Thus meaning that feats are meaningless in 90% of cases. tl;dr not using powerscaling means that VS Debating is meaningless.

Not quite sure myself. I haven't visited a lot of communities where this concept is outright rejected, so I can't really determine what the major reasons for it could be.

While I know that SA's Death Battle used to not use powerscaling, they started using the method when they did Ryu vs Jin (though the way they're handling the method is not that good and some are obviously cherrypicked). Also, people saying that powerscaling doesn't work is even more apparent especially when it comes to Dragon Ball, Marvel, and DC at least outside this wiki.

Marvel and DC somewhat have a case, since the way these verses are written is more similar to a bunch of different stories put together, thus creating tons of inconsistencies similar to the ones found in crossovers. SCP and Pokémon are also subject to this.

But not using powerscaling in stuff like Shonen just plainly doesn't work, since these verses tend to have a rather precise hierarchy of "this character's stronger", mostly due to their natures of constantly escalating in power. Not using it in these cases can lead to dumb things like a character capable of fodderizing planet busters...not being planet level.
