How is that BFR any useful, if Bardock has a larger range?

Besides, I highly doubt that if that wasn't the case, Bardock wouldn't be able to come back since the entire point of the Time Breakers is to travel to other universes and timelines.

Any other way Shadow could take him down?

Shadow has teleportation so that helps to deal with his range. Also shadow's bfr is outside of time and space, so bardock would have to be able to come back from that not another universe or timeline. Shadow also has chaos control to slow or stop time and can use indigo asteroid to rip apart bardock.

The BFR banishes opponents outside space-time. If the person can't survive without a space-time then it's instant death.

Indigo Asteroid creates a gravitational pull that will tear apart anything within its range. https://youtu.be/m85JwKEslDw

For what it's worth, it was stated somewhere that the Sega Sonicverse has around 14 universes. A complete joke for Bardock, but stronger than some people assume.

Wasn't Solaris going to destroy them not instantly, but over time?

He immediately destroyed all the past, present, and future timelines as Sonic, Shadow, and Silver fought Solaris in an empty void. Then Eggman said "there should be something that's anchoring him to this dimension" which isn't elaborated on because LOL plot. Then again there's the whole "he eats dimensions for lunch" which implies that he could do it if he wasn't being anchored.
