Serpents and Sorcerers RP

The creature seems excited, then turns away sadly. It realizes you're not one of its race. Tears of sadness leak from its eyes. It looks up to the sky, lets out a mournful howl, and roars in a crying rage.
Salar sighs, feeling legitimately sympathetic to how the frog is feeling, and tries again to show some compassion, extending his hand towards them

It huffs as if to sigh, and shakes your hand, still gnawing on the fishman arm.

“Well that’s progress at least”
Salar shakes her hand vigorously (assuming it’s not a him or potentially both)
”Can you understand me? Is there any way I can help you? You seem hurt“

It doesn't understand you.

"Maybe he can write or draw shapes" Dan said before creating a construct out of a sheet of paper and a pencil, then handing it to him.

“Well, this is complicate. It understood the hand shake tho. So, maybe it’ll understand some other gestures?”

Salar pointed to himself

”Salar”

“There we go, we’re getting somewhere”

Salar took out a piece of paper and a pen, writing “Sam” on it, before pointing to the frog

”Sam. We’re calling you same because we can’t pronounce that, so that’ll be a good place to start with translating. We’re here to help. Probably.”

The gill-man wheezes out a "g-g-gmmmm..."

Davey transforms back to their squid like form as each tentacle has its end transformed into a different idea Davey has of the creature whose arm is being eaten. "I don't have enough limbs or room can someone point at the arm?" I ask.

The arm has been cleaned to the bone by the creature, who gnaws at the remainder. When you point, it hands you the arm, which is strangely moist.

“I think that’s as far as we can get. Unless you can translate or something, I think learning anymore is impossible.”

Davey uses one of the Fishmen's arms to grab the arm and cause its equivalent arm to disappear and another holds the bone remains to it.

The creature sighs, sitting in a meditative stance. You can feel its mind clearing. It stands up. A voice echoes in your heads, "Beware... the creature comes this way... Beware... he'll take you away..." The creature opens its mouth. "Since the dawn of time... I've been here. Forgotten son, testing all your fear. Nature's mistake, I see no end. The Dragon's Child... walks among man."

"What?!?" That was unexpected for Dan, he did not expect someone to get into his mind, although at least this was good at the time, wait a minute, did he refers to all of us with that description?

On hearing the last line Cyrus turns around back toward the creature and looks at him curiously. “Dragon’s Child?” He says questioningly.

"For centuries past, many tribes know the tales
Of men not returning, when they've gone there
And those who've returned, can't describe what they've seen
Their hair's turned white, and they've gone insane"

The creature's song invokes some small amount of fear.

“Sounds like aging?” Cobold says altering a tentacle to give them their own mouth.

“Elaborate.” Davey says.

“Aging in normal humans causes hair to eventually whiten and weakens the mind.” Cobold explains.

“That seems unlikely what do you think the dragon’s Child is time.” Davey says.

“No, just no one survived actually finding it.” Cobold says.

"All beware the blackened water
The creature's come to take you away
All beware unholy water
On this dying day"

The creature's song is done. It bows.

Charlie starts applauding. "I am sorry I think someone liked the song of yours a lot." Davey says embarrassed. "I am curious is some supernatural force driving the cannibals?"

"Perhaps a higher force is behind these attacks?" Dan mentions trying to put the pieces together reaching the same conclusion as his partner

"They follow a beast called The Hungry. I would recommend staying out of their way, lest you be sharkbait before a serpent."

"Like a sea serpent I think I fought one before." Davey says.

"Perhaps but we are now far weaker." Cobold says.
(What kind of boat is this?)

He swims down, swimming back up with a mossy, metal-lined ship. It's huge. "I've got a crew now. I can use this."

"I think it might be best if me and The Drake try to get back to the main land ourselves I think we are faster than this ship we can also most likely make the trip." Davey says.

"I think that is a terrible idea. Unless, of course, you wish to be prey to a sea beast or Flying Fishman."

“The Drake is an excellent flyer but do you mean to tell me that fishman have obtained reliable aerial mobility. What did they somehow rip off flying fish The Drake can fly very high and can also put up a great fight.” Davey says.

“The Drake also needs rest.” Cobold responds.

“Fine.” Davey says.

Gil turns back to you. He's pissed for the first time since entering his calm state. "NEVER UNDERESTIMATE AN ENEMY!! THIS IS AN ESSENTIAL RULE OF WAR!!" He breathes deeply. “If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

“If we did that let’s just assume they are an unstoppable force or that they can attack and sink a boat.” Cobold says.
