Soul Manipulation is worthless against a Robot. Scaramouch can fight on par with Jack, and I would argue he has way more skill than anyone in the Underground except for maybe Undyne and Asgore. And the Dagger works against metal and rocks. Given that Mettaton's body is mechanical... Yes, one shots easily. If it works against something of his level is irrelevant, as it can ignore durability (destroyed Jack's knives a few seconds after touching them, as well as a temple in the later episode).
The only thing going for Mettaton is electricy manipulation, but then again, Scaramouch's skill as well as his sword manipulation could counter that.
Anyway, Mettaton has the versatility, but Scaramouch is almost certainly the more skilled fighter, being a match for Jack until the samurai used his own power against him.
It's a tough fight, but I'd probably give Scaramouch the edge.
No? Mettaton would still be far stronger than a being capable of ramming at MHS+ speed at an enemy physically. Monsters can still deal physical damage as much as anyone else.
I mean the SOUL attacks would only be doing body damage, which means they wouldn't deal as much damage against Scaramouch as it would against someone with a soul
Alright, alright, well a main advantage for Scaramouch is that Mettaton cannot ignore his Durability via SOUL damage, and ramming attacks wont do that well against Scaramouch as he prefers to keep his distance and attack with a golem or his sword manipulation, and his dagger would definitely do a number on Mettaton's body, I just don't see Scaramouch KOing Mettaton or killing as Mettaton's true form is a ghost, I'd say Scaramouch wins via Incap, as we do not know how strong Mettaton is as a ghost (I wont just assume Mettaton is Town level as a ghost, since Mettaton's body was created specifically to fight humans), and Scaramouch would be unable to harm Mettaton's ghost body, as ghosts in Undertale are uncapable of being damaged by conventional means, as Napstablook was unable to actually be harmed by Frisk's attacks, and had only pretended to take damage
But if we consider Mettaton as bound to his robot body, Scaramouch wins
The vast majority of UT attacks hit both the SOUL and the body. Undyne literally throwing a spear at you damages your SOUL, and very clearly shows the ability to smash through physical objects, as well.
Also Mettaton is 100% bound to his robotic body, as can be learned from Mad Dummy.
Well, I'd say Scaramouch's dagger would be able to do a number on Mettaton's body, and he still removes Mettaton's ability to negate durability via being a robot (since Dura negation comes from attacking the SOUL, and Scaramouch doesn't have a soul to attack, thus negating SOUL damage), and while it's a body created for combat (at least it's original intent....), Mettaton is still inexperienced in combat as iirc his first fight in his EX form was against Frisk, while prior to fighting Jack, he had destroyed an entire village, and is capable of fighting on par with and nearly winning against Jack (and is Aku's favorite assassin, which should definitely could for something), and Mettaton could potentially be fighting Scaramouch while he sings to have his dagger attack Mettaton, which creates vibrations powerful enough to destroy one of Jack's weapons, and make a pretty large hole in concrete with just a single hit, I'd say Scaramouch wins with mid to high-diff
He is far more skilled than Mettaton, who has shown little to no combat experience, while Scaramouch could fight evenly against a combat expert, and... He has that explosive... Knife?
