Scaling flight speed to reaction for Marvel heralds

He could do it before he starts flying. Like if he knows how far away a galaxy is, he could estimate how long it takes to get there and just stop
Unless your expecting someone to calculate those things beforehand before taking flight, this sounds super unlikely. And even less likely if you’ve never traveled to that location before until that moment.

Yeah you can calculate it, that's normal. I think this is the case for Thor since he's usually not shown to have FTL reactions in old comics, but he still has MFTL+ flight

But like, how? The average MFTL character is not exactly a math wiz, and unless they have some type of cosmic awareness or know the details of the flight before taking it, it’s extremely unlikely for them to be able to accurately determine the scope of the distance they’re flying to know where and when to stop beforehand.

That's a good point, but what I said should apply to a character like Thor who's shown to be not as fast with combat speed. He must be using an unknown method to know when to stop, likely estimating which is not hard to believe for someone who literally has cosmic awareness

Oh no I meant for more general cases rather than characters under more specific circumstances like Thor.

As for whether or not this argument would apply to this case of scaling, that’s a different story.

On that last sentence, that would require some really solid and clear evidence, since Thor being shown to not be as fast with combat speed is contradicted by his feats of being able to react to MFTL+ things like that, and that contradiction is simply that, it doesn't mean that the higher feats have a mechanic like that to justify them -- if anything Thor has the classic Marvel mechanic of holding back to suicidal levels that endanger others to justify when he isn't at his peak. You can compile all the evidence you can find and ask for help there to whoever you think can assist on the topic of there being a mechanic that makes Thor and other characters only react to MFTL+ thing mid-flight but not otherwise, don't leave it at speculation if you think that this is truely the case.

What do you think of this argument in relation to the question of flight speed?

Should a general thread about the reaction speed rule be made about this by the way? Because this seems to raise a very valid point that would more than likely effect every genetic FTL flight feat.

There is this to consider.

To note, first resurrection Drax did have this did have something like this, he could fly across space and run into Thanos across planets and into Gamoara in a ship in the middle of space. He already doesn't scale to his flight speed.
