Ryu is not winning against Scorpion.
This version of Scorpion has no qualms about using Hellfire at
any given moment. Hellfire is
Soul Manipulation and burns far hotter or is at least comparable to Sektor's 3000° Oxy-hydro flamethrower given how Scorpion
no sold it. Oxy-hydro burns at 3000° or
(2,800 °C; 5,072 °F). If Ryu's Soul isn't destroyed by Scorpion, then his skin will be melted off from quite literally any attacks that has Hellfire in it.
The
Lifting Strength difference doesn't mean all that much since Scorpion will
teleport out of the grab.
Scorpion has many ways he can circumvent Ryu's attacks. Going Intangible, making Illusions or Duplicates, or just teleporting out of the way. Scorpion will burn through Ryu faster than Ryu can...what? What are Ryu's win conditions? Beating Scorpion up? Scorpion's Stamina goes way higher than Ryu's. Scorpion
endured the torture of literal hell day after day with no rest, running off of pure Willpower (rage) alone. Human Scorpion survived
getting gutted and
impaled and could still fight (Scorpion won in the former fight)
There's nothing Ryu can feasibly do against Scorpion. The
Power Nullification justification is dubious at best and outright wrong at worst considering that the Hadoken simply extinguish flames. Off of first impressions, nothing shows that the fire is any type of magic. It's just
Temperature Manipulation.
Power Nullification, or Negation, is the ability to nullify the powers and abilities of others, preventing or disabling their effects. The mechanisms by which this effect is accomplished and their restrictions vary from character to character, but the ability is often limited to a certain type of power, such as supernatural phenomena in general, or magic. In some cases, an ability can only be negated once it's been used or activated, but in others, powers can be nullified before they're even utilized. The effect may be temporary or permanent, and may be restricted by touch, or be something that the user can apply to any ability they see, or within a field that negates any powers within.
But let's go under the impression that Ryu does actually have
Power Nullification.
It doesn't work on Scorpion.
No, seriously. Ryu's
Power Nullification is only shown to work on fire and Scorpion's hellfire is nothing remotely close to normal fire. Scorpion's Hellfire is actually
Unholy Manipulation pretending to be Fire Manipulation, which again, interacts with Souls, is possibly Intangible, and works completely separately from regular fire.
Scorpion dodges or teleports out of any attacks Ryu does and melts him to death. Scorpion For Reasons Above.
