Robot Default Resistances

Due to this thread, questions have been raised as to what robots are immune to by default. We treat many pages has having unlimited or undrainable stamina due to their robotic nature, and here we see the question of "do robots have immunity to Soul Manipulation and Mind Manipulation by default?

The argument is that many fictional franchises treat robots as soulless, and that they are robotic, artificial mind, that a mind manipulator would be unable to manipulate. So, should we treat all robots like this, with the only exception being robots who have directly shown to possess a soul/controllable mind?

If this is not a default immunity, where do we stop? If a robot shows sentience should we allow it? Should sapience be the limit?

I would appreciate your thoughts and opinions on this.

I would say that unless they're implied to have actual sapience or something analogous to a soul it's safe to assume they don't have those things.

I'm really uncertain about that, her AI seems way too advanced to be assumed to be that of a simple robot.

Then again there are series such as megaman where robots display a long range of emotions, yet it is not until the X era that robots are stated to have true free will and souls (which are likened to that of human beings) which implies that robots in the past lacked such things.

It depends on the extent of the mind manipulator, whether or not he can also affect AI where the architect of the mind is silicon or carbon based. Neuron synaptic processing or electronic. But then again some AI's have bio-components in their processors as well. The mind should be assess on a case by case basis.

As for the soul/spirit that is something more esoteric as even in real life it is written off and dismissed to become interchangable with the mind, so I would give it a clear go with having a resistance unless the robot in question is possessed/inhabited by a soul. It is abit fuzzy in cases where a person's consciousness has been uploaded into the machine. Ultimately this also would have to be treated on a case by case basis.

One thing is for certain is that anything from this verse would automatically have resistance to soul manipulation, unless you want to have a philosophical/scientific debate about it.

I agree with others that we shouldn't automatically give all robots such resistances, unless explicitly stated in-universe. This should be applied to all Ridiculously Human Robots, such as Doraemo

@Crzer07

The real-life comment has no place here. We are not getting a religious debate over the fictional application of resistances of robots. Also this Wiki treats all sentient organics not deliberately stated by authors/characters to not have a soul as having a soul, so for battle purposes we would still treat that has possessing souls. But, once again, this isn't the place to debate philosophy and religion, so there is no need to address the further.

@Byaku

So you're saying Doraemo SHOULD get resistance? As in he has no mind/soul to manipulate? Or the other way around? In this case being super human-like (Jenny Wakema, Doraemo) is a weakness and they would not have resistances, as they are human to the point of defaulting into not having resistance.

Just as a quick clarification, the cosmic AC is, to some degree, sapient, as it absorbed the last of humanity at the end of the book into itself.

Transapient maybe.

Guys it depends on what you define robot, AI or whatever it's named here. The term "Soul" is the union of the physical and the metaphysical, in most cases. In this(page 16-25) case the soul is unaffected by information manipulation, 4-D scale warping and duplication, since it never "moves" at all. It's a state of being.
