Requesting a Ban on Elder Scrolls Matches

So, I'm putting this forward since the massive influx of matchups for Elder Scrolls characters is actually taking away what little valuble time Matt and Ultima have at setting up and fixing the verse at the moment.

Therefore, I think any and all Elder Scrolls matchups for characters of Tier 2 and above should be banned for the time being, so the pages can be updated entirely in a realistic timeframe, and so that the Lore Buffs here can dedicate time to writing powers explaintations on pages rather than hashing them out repeatedly on forums.

Anything below Tier 2 shouldn't cause that much of an issue as it doesn't take a Lore Buff to look at powers, statistics, and skills, just to explain stuff like cosmology, although if people think all matches should outright be banned I'm not objecting.

Also I wasn't sure what forum to put this on so someone can move it to the appropriate board if Management isn't appropriate.

You... kinda ignored what I said.

Matt and Ultima should be the ones asking for this if anything. They are free to give input or to not give it. Banning matches because "its time consuming for them" is the worst possible excuse. Heck, we only banned controversial matches in the past, very controversial matches. Banning TES matches for these reasons looks like a joke.

I also think that this would be more on matt and ultima to request, and matt has said above that he doesn't really care. If the character loses but then they should have got something added, we can just remove the match, like we do when literally any other file gets updated. Probably just like a note on the verse page saying the verse is sorta in flux rn, at most.

I'm less talking about Matt and Ultima and more about the people making the battles. Whether or not this gets agreed upon, people have ongoing matches or are planning on making matches. Most of which will sum up to a big waste of time once the revisions happen. We'd be wasting evryone's time and energy into debating those if we just let them continue. At least if we banned them for now, we wouldn't have to go through all of the trouble of removing matches and other junk.

It isnt, really.

Otherwise we'd have to ban every single match every time a CRT pops up to add anything.

They can just, you know, not make them. Not really a waste of time anyways if you enjoy yourself during the match, which is the entire point of them. Not every match absolutely needs to get to a profile. Remember that they're supposed to be a for fun thing, not a way to flex on other people's characters.

Not all CRT's are as big as a verse wide revision though. Most are just like, adding a power, or anylysing a feat.

Considering the verse is being reconstructed from the ground up I feel like comparing it to "every time a CRT pops up" is a big disservice. It would be like if every Fairy Tail profile had to be taken down then put back up and the moment Natsu went up people started spamming it in matches despite much of the page being a work in progess.

And I made this because I'm noticing the trend of: VS Thread is made -> People argue -> People miss abilities or mechanics because the pages aren't finished being updated yet -> Matt/Ultima comes in and corrects them. Whether that's an actual drain on time is up to Matt and Ultima of course but that's what it just looks like from an outside perspective.

I'll give this a couple more days before I close it, overall I think the reaction to this was "meh", so I think matches are here to stay (and then get immediatly taken down, so eh).

I'll want to wait for the revisions to wrap up too. The Dovahkiin (only profile I'm reasonably knowledgeable about) has quite a few resistances and possibly powers missing, and I'm guessing the rest of the tier 2 and above are missing stuff too.
