Question about pixel scaling for Calculations

What equation does everyone use to find how many pixels are in a single line on an image?

Is there even an equation or do you use the X-axis or Y-Axis?

Why isn't their a page dedicated to how to pixel scale that gives a step by step guide for people who want to do calcs on their own?

You just grab some program to paint it like ms paint and it should tell you if not, use the select tool over the line.

do I look at the X-axis or the Y-axis to help get a size comparison between objects

Depends on if the line is horizontal or vertical, the axis are in that order

what if its like a semi-diagonal?

Well you can still find the number of horizontal/vertical pixel if you select and make a similar line.

Yeah basically when you draw a line on MS Paint (Which I use), it will tell you how many pixels the line covers, both horizontal and vertical, you can notify which one you're using for better clarity.
