Where do the 7-A ratings come from? Is there a feat that was 7-A or does the 7-A come from powerscaling?

It comes from scaling Genos's mountain feat in chapter 9. The difference between Genos's feat and being baseline 7A is 7.04x. So the assumption is that people rated as 7A are at least 7x stronger than Genos or something to that effect. Dunno if it's based one one shotting him or what though. There's probably old threads that cover this but I wouldn't know where to find them.

This is only the beginning of One punch man,Genos constantly had power aps+there were people who could stomp him easily.

Yeah, but we also don't know how powerful the upgrades are since he hasn't preformed a feat of greater scale since then. For all we know he could only be 1.7x stronger or something.

Other 7-A characters are scaled to characters like Garou and Superalloy, or Bang himself.

From memory Watchdog Man, Silverfang, Bomb, Overgrown Rover, Gouketsu, Metal Bat, Darkshine, Elder Centipede, Carnage Kabuto, Orochi, Flashy Flash, Black Sperm, and Garou all scale in someway to be 7x Genos as of now.

I'd say Bang should get the explanation.

Bomb is comparable, if not superior to, Bang

Rover, Centipede, Garou, Darkshine and Black Sperm all fought Bang/Bomb

Flash, Orochi, Kabuto, Gouketsu, Metal Bat all fought someone comparable to Bang. In Gouketsu's case, it is superior to Carnage Kabuto via statements

I think that the current explanation seems better than simply stating that he is 7x stronger than early Genos.
