Quan Chi speed upgrade

We do.

But it is real lightning, Raiden is the Thunder God and he can make storms and provoke cloud-to-ground lightning in some attacks.

Quan Chi was defeated by Sonya Blade, this means that if he is going to be upgraded to Massively Hypersonic, then everyone will be upgraded by powerscaling.

I have major issues with the Mortal Kombat powerscaling.

Virtually everyone from Shao Kahn to Mocap have the same tier. That is stupid. Sometimes we have to accept that Story Mode fights are outliers or PIS. Like Sonya defeating Raiden.

Mortal Kombat 9 [In here Quan Chi was defeated by Kung Lao] and 10 and its comic are canon and in here everyone fights and scales to eachother even if they are PIS or outliers. Yes, Mokap and Shao Kahn have the same tier, but the difference in power between them is extremely massive.

Yes, but we can't consider every fight PIS just because you dislike the outcome of the fights, these events happened and they are mentioned like Sindel killing everyone, Raiden killing Liu Kang, Smoke beating Raiden and Johnny Cage defeating Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Shinnok.

Alex obliviously don't scale to Gill because he is a character that doesn't like to fight at his fullest like Pyron and Street Fighter V is gonna retcon that like Urien saying that Chun-Li destroyed Shadaloo when the one who did it was Ryu.

You yourself agree that there is massive power gaps between characters, so you can't exactly scale everyone to High 7-C.

Mortal Kombat characters are not High 7-C, they are 7-C from Raiden storm calc. Weaker characters like Kira are Low 7-C+ and the fodders like Mokap are Low 7-C, which the difference from the higher tier is present. We can also assume that characters like Baraka are in the lowest bonds of 7-C while the strongest/final bosses are in the highest bonds of said tier.

There is a lot of PIS in Mortal Kombat, but there's also things like how Johnny and Cassie beating Shinnok was via a power boost that they both lost immediately after. And Sonya never legitimately beat Raiden. It's very obvious even in that scene that Raiden is stronger than Sonya by far. Kung Lao beating Shang Tsung and Quan Chi is a bit ridiculous, but then Quan Chi wanted Outworld to lose that tournament so he may have sabotaged the fight so Kung Lao would win. Sonya beating Quan Chi is something I can't really fathom though...

Well, regardless, lightning dodging feats differ in speed depending on the distance travelled. It is not at all certain that a character is MHS+.

The real cal howard said:
I agree wth Matt. I've had this problem too (heck, SF suffers from the same problem too imo)
Same. If we go by fights that happen in SF, everyone scales to everyone, even when it is obviously not the case.

You can inform some calc group members about this thread if you wish.
