Profile Template?

Ayo, didn't we have a Standard Profiles template that used to pop up as a notification whenever we create a new page? What happened to that?

Our wiki's staff haven't turned it off as far as I am aware.

I will ask the official Fandom staff regarding the issue.

I have received some replies:

"I did some digging, and it looks like we discussed this option being missing back in 2021 in ticket #1063844 - I don't think we had an opportunity to reimplement it since then, so I'm not sure what these editors are referring to!

It might be something that a JS script could implement though, by inserting and triggering the MediaWiki preload function. Is there any chance there was some custom JS that implemented it, but which broke or got removed?"

I'll do some more digging but, from what I know, I think they may be misremembering or it wasn't a native feature. I do think it would be nice to bring this feature back though!"

That's strange... I definitely used this at least a year ago, so there's no way it was retired before then. I think I recall last using it around October of last year, and noticed the option was missing shortly after that. I made a template blog on FC/OC that I started using instead of this feature, and that blog was made in November

I do recall the template being an 'alert' of some kind that you could press and then the sandbox/blog/page would reload with the template there. There used to be a icon resembling a warning sign, and clicking on that would give you the option to start with a template.

When do you (or others) last recall seeing it?

I remember, for a fact, that I used the template for a number of drafts in the past 2-3 years; R.M. Renfield (in fact, the Discussions section is still there), Surge the Tenrec, Ranfan, Dr. Michael Morbius, Brianne de Chateau, and Shotaro Kaneda, to name a few.

The first time I noticed it was missing was after I had wrote a draft for Mei Mei, because I've been copying the contents of her page for future sandboxes since.

EDIT: Yep, sometime around the 18th of May.

If it’s not possible as a pop up anymore, maybe a blog or a page can be made with the default source codes where we can copy and paste

No. Unfortunately not. I hope that the problem will be fixed within the coming months, but it might take years, given my past experiences with requesting error corrections from Fandom.

There was a suggestion when making sandboxes and profiles that would auto copy it for us is all. It's a small inconvenience really
