They're probably right about them being connected, but cross-scaling is limited.

also shouldn't they be able to have non-physical interaction for non existent things considering that darkness is non existance

I think it's two. I do need to correct myself on it being universal.

I think it's more that "darkness" is a destructive power, and in some cases an erasing one. This also only applies to two seasons.

They currently have it for hurting "Shadow" from New Stage 2, but it never shows intangibility (even if it becomes actual shadow now and then). I can say the same for Miden, despite being a ghost.
