Powerless - Role Play Thread

After their brief conversation, the group parted ways, each with their own thoughts on the main ship. Roxanna, however, remained aboard the vessel that they are scout it: a space freighter, officially designated CPV-Redgrain 7, though its crew affectionately called it The Thresher.

The Thresher wasn't enormous by interstellar standards, but for a transport of its kind, it was spacious, roughly the size of a two-story residential complex. Inside, it retained its rudimentary industrial structure: steel walls, modular panels, and long rows of blinking lights that hummed softly overhead. It smelled of engine grease, thermal residue, and a faint aroma of coffee, likely coming from the main console, where cups often clinked from the shuddering engines.

Roxanna was positioned near the cargo port, a cavernous section wedged into the starboard stern of the ship. The floor was covered in reinforced plasteel, scratched and worn from years of dragging heavy containers. Overhead, cranes and retractable loading arms dangled like metallic spider legs, dormant for now, but ready to awaken at any moment. Automated rail systems hummed faintly beneath Rox's boots, hinting at their potential to transport goods with uncanny precision.

The cargo hold itself rose nearly two stories of vertical space, giving it the feel of a warehouse rather than a ship's chamber. Dozens of stacked crates, some hermetically sealed with plasma locks and others marked with half-peeled labels, surrounded it in tightly packed rows like sleeping giants. Each bore a faded inscription: "Hydration Capsules", "Deuterium Cells", "Synthetic Fiber Fabrics", "Experimental Alloys", and one with the ominous label "BIO-HZ-13": Do not expose to atmosphere. This one was cordoned off, tucked away in a dark, secluded corner where environmental regulators were working overtime. It wasn't just cargo back there; it was a vibrant archive of movement, trade, and survival, a physical history of every destination this ship had visited. Much could be learned simply from the dust or from the stickers plastered like graffiti on the metal beams.

Rox carefully watches the shipment of the cargo going in, along occasionally staring at the surroundings from around

"So far so good, this shit better stay that way for a while too..."

As both ships glided silently through the vast emptiness of space, moments away from initiating their warp drives, Rox is on Thresher, the vessel served as both decoy and bait, a calculated risk to uncover the mystery behind the recent disappearances of similar freighters in this sector.

The rest of the team remained on their personal ship, under the steady hand (or actually lazy) of Tosho.

Nick on his chair, his gaze fixed on the viewport. As the stars around them blurred into streaks, heralding the onset of warp travel, he recalled the mechanics of their drive system. Unlike fictional depictions of faster-than-light travel, their ship manipulated the curvature of space itself, compressing the distance ahead rather than accelerating beyond the universal speed limit. It was elegant, efficient and supposedly predictable.

But nothing could have prepared them for what happened next.

Without warning, the Thresher was wrenched out of warp, its systems groaning in protest as if it had struck something invisible yet immovable. It dropped violently into normal space, far too soon, as if it had plummeted through a pothole in the fabric of the cosmic highway.

Nick's expression faded

"What the shit?!"

She looks around her at the cargo in question to check it out, not aware yet what went on

"What the hell?", the Doctor muttered in surprise.
"Not again..."

Tosho sighed.
"Do you know what just happened?"

"We must go back!" He contain a scream after see what happen, trying to keep himself calm, he dont expect that the ship where Rox is were pushed out of Warp space

The Thresher crew attempted to make contact with her who was in that level of the ship, though there was some static. "-e-He-hey come up front!"
She does as told to, walking slowly, but she had her hand placed on her gun for any nasty surprises on the way, she will be ready on that

"Stay calm Nick. They're probably okay.", he replied.
"Welp, tryna analyze it. Send message to HQ real quick."
"I'll do it. Focus on figuring out where the Thresher went.", the medic responded.

"HQ, this is Delta Squad. CPV-Redgrain 7 has vanished during warp travel. Suspected hijacking attempt."

"Pilot A6 here, reporting as well. I am currently running scans throughout the ship, reinforcements and backup may be necessary."

The crew wave her

"Something pushed us of out Warp Speed, the rotor isnt working, in other words we are stuck" the leader told her

He nod trying to calm

"Here is HQ, we are going in 30 minutes, attempt keep track of your tracker in CPV-Redgrain 7" They aswner them, starting to redirect reinforcaments

Back to the real space, a bigger ship nearly 4 kilometer big, enough to grab other smaller ships such as the one where Roxanne is, the big ship open its Doors and tendrils start to grab the ship inside

"How i know you arent evil ass motherf*ckers by any damn chance, hm?"

Asks out about their alignment
The crew exchanged confused glances as Roxanne’s question hung in the air. The leader, a burly man with a gruff voice, scratched his head before speaking up.

“Ehhh, ma’am, why’d you ask that? This kinda thing’s happened before with other ships. Ships going missing, disappearing without a trace. We’ve had our share of... dealings with some shady people, but why the hell would we align ourselves with the ones who steal those ships, huh? Hell, we don’t even know what happened to the crews of those ships. If anything, we’d be trying to figure out who’s behind it, not joining them.”

The rest of the crew murmured in agreement, still unsure how to interpret her question but clearly ready to defend their position.

"It doesnt hurt to be sure now wouldnt it?..."

She takes her hand off the weapon she had earlier

"Anyway, i will try and see if i cant contact my crew, what are the coordinates of your location?"

"Sector Vega XL" One comment but in that moment, a lound sound was hear by them, alarm start to go on, as the tendrils start to tear a bit the ship

Before she could even do something the loud noise cut her off abruptly

"Now what?...Yo! What was that loud ass sound?"
"SOMETHING IS DRAGGING US TO AN UNKNOWN SHIP" One of the crew scream, perphas this is the right moment to Roxanne try to call the other with her personal communicator

"Oh f*ck!"

She quickly calls out to her crew on the comms

"Yo guys, im at Sector Vega XL on a ship from some other guys and they are getting attacked too, get in here quick!!"

"Copy. Stay calm and brace for any lethal confrontation." Tosho replied, "Doc, send message to Manus HQ ASAP."

"Well, you're young enough for me to say it."
"The only woman who has called me that is my mother, so it feels kinda weird coming from you.", he sighed before continuing.

"Sorry. I sometimes forget that you were born in the 2120s. You certainly don't look or act your age."

"Huhh, we not are just a warp jump from them? While Manus Is like 20?" Nick ask after hear that plan
"There's nothing we can really do on our own. Jumping there will risk us getting shot down or captured by the obviously superior enemy ship. Besides, we're trying to track and follow them back to their base."

They can see how the coordinates of Roxanne's tracker stops in 3232342; 633242; 211245
"Just hurry the f*ck up"

Sent one last quick message and prepares the gun out, held at her front ready to shoot whenever something came up at her
In the distance, a laser saw was activated, cutting through the ship's doors.

The enemy ship itself was descending toward a nearby moon. This moon possessed a toxic atmosphere, so simply escaping would be suicidal if the ship had a hole in it.

"Oy! Do something about the laser cutting in your ship dammit"

Screams at the crew in her ship, the situation was getting dire now

"Okay, we need a battle plan. We have at least three weapons of low level (like low caliber like 9mm but adapted to this era), not counting the ones you're carrying. We can barricade and block them in the lower section while we stay at the entrance/staircase leading up here, which will buy us more time. Since most of the ship is denser than that door, that should buy us a few minutes, maybe 15 if we are lucky, before they get bored and try to blow us up because we're holding out too long and they're not going to waste any troops." the captain of the ship said

She went exactly to the location of the low section, along its entrance as the captain has told her

"Better move your asses over there too soon to help"

"And where is it exactly the location of the low section and its entrance? Guide me over there damn it!"

Says as she went on the move to there
(What! How come Roxanne doesn't know where she entered the ship? We're talking about the main door where people enter.)
