Case in point:
Botulinum is the most lethal toxin (only behind radiation and radioactive substances, particularly Mendelevium)
Prions are the deadliest diseases (100% fatal with no cure or treatment)
Bubonic plague has killed the most people out of any natural disaster in general (COVID is #5 on deadliest pandemics)
There's also a list of deadliest wars, regimes, etc which have contributed to death tolls via man-made/anthropogenic (at times overlapping with natural through famines, floods, diseases, etc) disasters

I tried to calculate the total death toll for every conflict listed in the above article by adding the cumulative fatalities for each conflict over the span of each conflict's duration (using the lower and higher estimates respectively for those with a range of fatality estimates)... and this is the result.

8,517,509 - 16,199,753.

Between 8 million and 16 million lives.

To put this into perspective, these conflicts, which are STILL ONGOING TODAY, have caused 13.234% - 25.170%, or in other words, 1/7.556 - 1/3.973 (rounding off to 3 decimal places) the geometric mean number of fatalities during WW2.

I apologise in advance for everyone who sees this, but let me repeat this for emphasis, with simpler figures (cutting down on decimals and rounding up denominators for fractions):

These conflicts, STILL ONGOING AS WE SPEAK, have caused between 1/8 and 1/4 the number of fatalities during WW2.
