As you can tell, I'm pretty new at this. So please excuse my shortcomings However, I published this because I found it very simple scale.

Those are purely game mechanics

They just show where Sonic will go, Because infact, The time travel works via Sonic mantaining his constant speed

It's done but traveling faster than light AFTER he activates these signs. That's how he activates the time travel. It's not really tied to Sonic's speed as much as it is tied to the signs

To clarify what everyone else was saying but with scans, we're told in the Japanese manual for Sonic CD EXACTLY how Sonic time-travels from a lore perspective. The warp pads imbue energy within Sonic. This energy can be used to time travel. However, the trigger to activate the energy is via maintaining lightspeed (Not FTL):

It's stated on this exact scan. I don't have the translation on me, but I know @Fireld would.

Point is, it's not Immeasurable. It's an ability he can activate by maintaining lightspeed after being "imbued" with energy from the time posts.
