The problem with Marvel is that virtually any characters can keep up with each other, regardless if it makes any sense or not.

Matthew is supposed to check through and fix the speed levels for the Marvel characters however.

The only time Wolverine was faster than Thor was in the Wolverine vs Thor comic, which is PIS heavy and shouldn't count. Writers love to put Wolverine against other characters regardless of their power difference.
