Basically Limbo is a dimension and Dante can beat people like Bob Barbas and Mundus who can effect/control this dimension also he can keep up with them both when fighting them giving him infinite 4th dimensional speed plus he can tank hits from them/hurt them in battle and for those people who will try to use the argument of him get beat up by the regular demons its shown that stronger demons appear later in on the game plus Dante gets strong after ever boss so this makes sense
