A Song of Ice and Fire is currently Subsonic in speed based on the feat of a Dothraki attacking so fast it creates afterimages and Jorah Mormont who can intercept some of the hits.

I think this feat an outlier, as it was never subsequently reproduced by any other character, Dothraki or not, in the other books released after, and this kind of feat seems weird to me for a verse like that of A Song of Ice and Fire.

Thoughts ?

Are the books cannon to GOT ? if so then I agree

there being no other subsonic feats is irrelevant if there are no antifeats and the alternative is only a single tier behind it, if it was something like a usually supersonic verse having 1 FTL feat then sure but its a bunch of peak/superhuman stuff and then a subsonic feat, its fine

What speed in m/s must be reached to create afterimages ? If it's too high in the subsonic it would clearly be an outlier, as no character in the verse can dodge arrows

So subsonic baseline (34 m/s) is enough to create afterimages according to an administrator, and according to this page medieval bows typically can fire arrows at around 45-55 m/s or higher.
So no it's not anti-feats

It should be closed since you answered yourself above.
I'm talking about that:

"there being no other subsonic feats is irrelevant if there are no antifeats and the alternative is only a single tier behind it, if it was something like a usually supersonic verse having 1 FTL feat then sure but its a bunch of peak/superhuman stuff and then a subsonic feat, its fine"

But he is right, you did not prove it is hyperbolic, there are no anti-feats. + You already said yourself that none dodged the arrow but were still able to do the said speed feat. What is there to discuss? I am confused.
