The people there seem to be disinterested in the IP, ironically. The passion of people like Satoshi Tajiri that made the brand in the first place is basically gone. Once that's gone, all that's left is a hollow shell.

Essentially, since they dropped PLA to make S/V on a dime, they left Rei’s story unfinished, so Pokemon Masters had to pick it up by sending several PLA characters to Pasio. When Rei is taken to the main game timeline (as in explicitly the one that all the Galar, Paldea, Alola, etc characters we know and love are from), he says explicitly that it’s a different universe from the one he’s from.

Doesn’t SV already suggest the existence of LA’s Hisui through stuff like Perrin and her Hisuian Growlithe, Bloodmoon Ursaluna and iirc a Laventon cameo in one of the classes?
Is there anything to suggest that the Rei from Masters isn’t just from a similar or identical universe to the mainline? Does it specifically say Legends as a whole is an alternate universe?

Ignore whatever dumb stuff Sean said, the fact that he's using Masters of all things to try and say that the Legends games are "not canon", should be enough to ignore whatever "argument" he's making

Regardless of who’s right or wrong, I have a feeling there’s always gonna be differing opinions on both Masters’ canonicity and how much precedence it should take over other stuff. Rn I’m curious on whether Masters’ contradictions with Z-A are actually contradictions or if there’s a way for them to co-exist.

I'm not even thinking about contradictions, I don't care about those type of things, I'm talking about Sean saying that SV didn't continue Legends Arceus (even though there's literally no reason of why should it continue it in the first place), and because of that Legends Arceus is supposedly "not canon" and because of that Masters "should be take it more seriously than mainline games" because it "continues Rei's story"...

Thank you for reminding me this. Ult has a Sableye, who has a Power Gem and frequently uses it. Since the main characters have trained each other, I feel that it is a scalable feat.

I avoided base Z-A leaks so well yet am now getting bombarded with DLC leaks. I suppose it makes sense since I’m just generally getting more Pokémon-related stuff on social media after Z-A, but I just wish people had better etiquette about this sort of stuff.

Because Z-A is set five years after X/Y, where Diantha lost to Calem/Serena, so she’s clearly not the strongest. The better question is why they didn’t go to Calem/Serena.

The answer is that they're embarrassed to be making a Kalos game so they added none of the characters or completely redesigned old ones to be unrecognizable so we wouldn't connect this garbage to X and Y.

We literally have many mentions of XY characters and call backs to XY that most people wouldn't catch (like i doubt someone will remember Mabel's dialogue that is referenced when you meet her for the 1st time in ZA). Also really "unrecognizable" yea i guess if you havent played the game in a while, but like most people recognise AZ, Emma and L (who btw is one of the best characters in the game and fully concludes his character arc presented in XY)
Im not the type of guy that says this, but this just feels pure cope cause this game fully embraces XY and Kalos as a whole, almost everything in the 3DS is mentioned or referenced in someway

Leon was more important to Z-A than Diantha was. Characters being off-mentioned don't equate to actually wanting to associate with the games. *Lysandre's character arc was already concluded in XY with him dying, Emma did fuckall the whole game other than get her ass posted on Twitter. AZ... I actually don't know, nobody online even talks about him.

You don’t have to play something if you just don’t want to, but saying it’s objectively garbage when a lot of the people who actually have played it say otherwise is so strange to me.
I haven’t played XY since I was a kid, but i definitely have fond memories of it (helps that Y was my first ever Pokémon game lol).

The game you can solo with any of the megas with your choice until the champion, with a nonsensical story with a villain team with nonsensical motivations, and a main villain who required two extra sets of games to give him any aura or anything worth having a main villain for. Yes, I'm sure it's better than the game that gives you things to challenge you and an actually competent story.

I think the biggest of X/Y's many sins was excluding the starters from the list of mons that could Mega Evolve. I'm still mad that Greninjas debut game didn't give it a mega, but greedy ass Charizard got two of them because it kept begging gamefreak to save it from bottom tier hell. That and the rivals are easily the worst ones in the series, you could put a gun to my head and give me all the time in the world before the trigger was pulled and I would not be able to even come close to remembering any of their names.
