Seeing the lady of Pain causes such agony that you die. Paper Mario ca feel pain (see his reactions on getting hit). Therefore, Paper Mario can be incapacitated and killed by the agony from the LoP.

Easily Paper Mario. LOP is at max a multiversal being. Mario has taken punishment from multiversal and omnipotent beings and as a result of aiding the star spirits, he has access to the star rod which can make him omnipotent. He's survived pain substantially more devastating than what LOP can give him and shrugged it off.

Lady of Pain is 2-A, this is a stompmatch. Close this thread.
Tiers aren't exactly the greatest ways of determining the winner of a battle. In fact, many individuals with practically identical powers and feats are placed in separate tiers due to the most miniscule of reasons. Regardless of who wins, this is no stompmatch by any means.

Tiers may not be the best way in many cases, but when the difference is INFINITELY higher, yes, it's a great way to define.

  • 2-A: Infinite multiverse.
  • 2-B: Finite multiverse.
2-A is infinitely higher than 2-B.

The Star Rod isn't Omnipotent, is just Reality Warping.
I'm afraid you're wrong there sir. The star rod is described as being capable of Making ANY wish come true. That doesn't just limit it to reality warping. Plus, even without the star rods Mario has taken on beings that would kill the Lady of Pain. If we include Super Mario RPG powers and feats, then it would be absolutely absurd to suggest that this would be anything but a close match. At the end of it all, the battle ultimately leans in Paper Mario's favor.

End Thread.

Hyperbole. A Omnipotent can't be defeated, while Bowser with Star Rod was defeated.

Defeated characters that would kill Lady of Pain? Give examples of such characters.

The strongest character Mario defeated in Super Mario RPG was Culex, which is possibly Low 2-C (Lady of Pain is still infinitely above), even so it is considered outlier.

End Thread.

Yes, the thread ends with Lady of Pain as winner.

That was no hyperbole. It's openly stated on multiple occasions to make any wish come true. The fact that Bowser was defeated is not proof of the rod being incapable of granting all wishes. Think about it this way, there would literally be no game, comic or other form of artwork if complete omnipotence was used. If Bowser used the Star Rod to its limitless extent, then there literally wouldn't be a game. This is why we see the creators of Marvel, for example, state that characters like Odin or Sentry possess omnipotence even though it seems like that isn't the case. What story would be worth noting if the god-like character just does whatever he wants?

For your question, Mario has beaten characters like Dimetio, overcame the power of the star rod and taken on culex (Who is not omnipotent but casually dishes out Galaxy---Universe level attacks that Mario shakes off). In addition. I'd like to clarify that tier ratings are ultimately based off of human judgement which isn't necessarily always accurate, and does not guarantee a victory.

You can make an argument for both characters yet at the end of the day Paper Mario comes out on top.

....Do you not realize the difference between finite and infinite?

Any 2-A is INFINITELY above even the strongest 2-B

Being able to do everything is the definition of Omnipotence, if the being can not all is not Omnipotent. Just as some Marvel characters are called Omnipotent and continue to be considered hyperboles, the only Omnipotent in Marvel is The-One-Above-All (still questionable). By the way, if you have just admitted that this is not a literal Omnipotence, defeating a false Omnipotent does not qualify at all.

Dimentio is 2-B, Lady of Pain is 2-A. 2-A >>>>>>>>>> 2-B. The same goes for Culex. She is infinitely above both. And if you think their stats are wrong, it's simple: Do a content review thread and try to change them. If you can, great. But we consider the current data of the profiles.

You can make an argument for both characters yet at the end of the day Paper Mario comes out on top.

Paper Mario can not defeat it, it is at an INFINITELY lower level, regardless of what you say.
