Right in the middle of Octopath 2 right now. Just finishing up the chapter 2s. Loving it so far.

Finally. God is good. Though this doesn’t seem like the next entry to the franchise. The producer calls the game a retelling of COTC, and the trailer really just seems like COTC, so I think this is just an in-between game while they work on OT III or whatever. I mean, I'm not complaining. COTC is, in my opinion, the better game of the three in almost every metric, so I can’t really see them flopping this.
I’m curious as to what they’ll replace the gacha mechanic with. My first thought was the guide/allure mechanic, but that seems way too simple? Maybe they'll be locked behind quests? Oh, and the **** was that last slide? You'd think it was just to showcase characters, but they were represented in the HUD in that last second?

It like somewhere in between, closer to a traditional game than COTC, but still a spinoff/prequal to the series overall. Still gives us more depth to the story more likely though.
