Object Flying in a Straight Line

Hey there. So, is it possible to calculate the speed of something traveling in a straight line? If so, how? A good example would be Yor Forger smacking a tennis ball to where it went an entire mile in a straight line, but another example would be this.:


Mainly asking since feats like this may work for reaction speed if dodged.
 
If it’s completely horizontal, find the distance it traveled without any visible change in height, find the size of one pixel, use a free fall calculator to see how long it would take for it to fall one pixel, then divide the distance traveled by that time.
