also it's not just for the lolz, Pym is one of the smartest beings in the marvel universe

Pym is still human, and both are in character. Reed isn't going to use such drastic measures for anyone that isn't a cosmic threat.

They might employ robots and drones to fight for them instead instead of a direct fight.
