That would just put them on equal footing right? Infinite creates clones/Metal creates clones, infinite does gravity manip/Metal does gravity manip etc.

Well, yes, the clones but Metal can create clones after copying Infinite. So not only he has clones of himself to copy the battlefield but he himself has th power to copy Infinite. Infinite can’t.

Metal Sonic's regen is something that would be really hard for Infinite to put down, and after Metal would copy his skills and abilities, he'll be able to adapt and use Infinite's skills against him, which nullifies his advantage over Metal
