- Nagato was clearly unable to dodge the Totsuka Sword, in a vsbattle, Itachi would almost immediately end the fight with the Totsuka Sword, also ending the Chibaku Tensei if it was cast
- Edo-Tensei's have unlimited chakra, Itachi would have no problem making 10 shadow clones and having them spit out giant fireballs at the Chibaku Tensei.

first point is speculation because that was under the cover of the destroyed CT which took him naruto and bee to destroy

LOL Kabuto clearly said that Nagato lost because of his lack of mobility, otherwise he would've dodged it.

Kakashi who is infamous for his low chakra supply was able to make 3 shadow clones, i don't think it's a stretch for Edo Itachi to make 10

@Uncle i never said he couldn't? im saying by that logic it doesn't matter because nagato just spams CT. and hes not destroying CT by himself.

i don't think Nagato can spam CT. it takes a relatively long while to form and nagato has to stand there while it happens
if it wasn't for plot armor it looks to me like Itachi could have simply Totsuka'd nagato at any given point while he was just standing there forming CT in front of them. this lasted several panels before the gravitational pull started taking effect.
also while it is true Naruto and Bee were helping, you also have to remember Itachi "Killed" nagato two times before he even attempted to use Chibaku tensei (needed ET Regenerationn to keep fighting). the second time he managed to blind all of nagato's extra eyes with shuriken and "kill" Nagato with susano'o all at the same time without nagato being able to react.
Totsuka also seems to be blidingly fast from the few examples we had. orochimaru was struck mid-sentence without even being able to perceive the attack coming. and the susano'o activation itself has possibly the fastest feat in Naruto by activating in response to an actual lightning bolt.
i'm gonna say Itachi wins because he has a more efficient win button that seems to be a perfect counter for nagato's weakness (lack of mobility) and has shown much better reaction/fight speed in general. nagato can win with CT, but CT is nowhere near as efficient as just stabbing someone with a giant (apparently insanely fast) sword.
with that said, Nagato is a far more powerful character. Itachi is just kinda built to beat stronger people 1 on 1.

Itachi. Nagato has no way to permenently put down Edo Itachi whereas Itachi can seal him with Totsuka Blade. In a normal fight Nagato would win though.

he has to physically catch Itachi and wrestle with his soul to do that though. it's far harder and more convoluted than Itachi just stabbing him with a really fast giant sword.
not to mention..Itachi's MS jutsus are all controlled solely from his eyes. Naruto was immobilized because he can't attack using just his face >_> .. if nagato tried to do the same to Itachi...Itachi could simply amaterasu him, or even worse, bring out susano'o directly behind him and stab him while the soul-wrestling is happening.
