Mythical Zeus Revision?

@Takato

Gods aren't given titles willy-nilly in myth. When they're the "God of X", that means they have authority over X.

Otherwise they'd be literally powerless in myth.

Aphrodite is the Goddess of Love, Beauty, and Sex. Would you say she doesn't have authority over any of those just because "they're titles"?

What about Athena? Who's the goddess of Wisdom and Strategy. You wouldn't say her titles are just titles, would you?

Seems likely considering Hades and Poseidon are compared to Zeus on a few occasions, now i doubt they are Solar System level but Poseidon definitely needs an upgrade fro 5-A. Here's hoping he gets upgraded as well when Matt begins the revisions.

That seems fair enough to me considering Hades is already High 4-C so Poseidon should logically be upgraded. Though i'd ask Matt about it personally.

Please stop quoting each other back and forth. It makes the thread harder to read.

My apologies Antvasima. If Rin wishes to continue this convo i will gladly do so on my message wall for the sake of easier reading.

Shouldn't the gods all have type 4 Immortality, given they are immortal via their divine godhood.

Also, the Olympians and Titans control and manipulate and to a respective degree are one with the concepts they represent, but they are not the direct concepts themselves.

At the very least, the gods' regen should scale to Prometheus regrowing his liver after a bird pecks it out in an endless cycle. And that's an absolute minimum, as they likely have far higher. Heck, the first 6 gods as babies remain undigested inside Kronos via their godhood, which is Low High.

The thing with Greek Mythology is that the Stronger Gods are unable to kill the weaker Gods due to their Immortality, which is why they must always trap them inside Tartarus.

Also, Thanatos literally cannot be killed even more than on the level Matt was talking about (and is likely an abstract). He's so much as trapped in a box, and death stops happening, which means lolcontradictions.

Thanatos is death personified, yes, when he is trapped in a box nothing dies anymore.

And he can't kill Gods because they are immortal.

Literally the only instance of a God dying in Greek Mythology is Asclepius which is often just a Demigod.

@Matt

I thought Asclepius died but then was revived as the God of Medicine just as Heracles was revived as the God of Strength, or something. But that might just be one version of the myth in any case since Asclepius was also said to have been turned into a constellation.
