MFTL+ Explanation

I notice some profiles with MFTL+ ratings explain why the character is MFTL+ but not to what degree. Doesn't that make it hard for those debating in vs matches to determine who has superior speed? MFTL+ is a very wide ranking.

How do I know? Should we just consider them equal or at least comparative in speed?

It's probably best to equalise speed if the character is MFTL but to an unknown degree, as the speed can vary a lot.

In the best case all profiles should make it so that a reader can figure out what exact speed they have (be it by linking to a calc, saying which character it is scaled from if that one has a specific speed listed or just by outright writing it down) independent on wether they are MFTL+ or not.

That said the quality of the profiles varies greatly and those and similar things are often neglected.

All one can do is to improve it on the profiles oneself knows it from.

Well, a lot of MFTL+ feats haven't been calculated, but are still obviously MFTL+ (For example, a character flying to a distant galaxy and back in a few minutes is obviously MFTL+, but the creator of the profile may not have the math know how to calculate it.

Generally, calculations are still preferred to give an at least ball park estimation of where they lie within the MFTL+ spectrum.

So if I find the specific feat(s), can I request it to be calced?
Of course, that's fine

I agree with DontTalk

Statistics no matter the type, should be explained in detail. The exception being vanilla stats (10-B/Human level stats). Especially very high stats like MFTL+.

I agree with Sera and DT.

We have the KH verse who has MFTL+ speed, yet I've seen people question how fast those guys are exactly and makes it confusing for weather they are faster or slower than the one they are fighting. Then we have those like GEoM and such who have MFTL+ reactions or something yet it's not specified of how fast he can fight and react at/or to. Though this one Azzy kind of explained why there's no specific value for him.

I'll actually go edit the KH pages at least on what they're exact speed value is thanks to the KH upgrade thread we had a while back for them that's still around. Though I might as well just ask or request for one of its feats to be calculated then as Darkanine pointed out.

Well, ideally, it is obviously better to have exact calculations available, but, as Darkanine mentioned, it is still recurrently possible to place feats as obviously an undefined amount of MFTL+, in lack of better options.

I have Darkanine to try and do the KH calc so that this way, we have a more secured hold on how fast the characters are.

Antvasima has a point as the profiles made here are not meant to be 100% accurate on a mathematical and scientific scale. If we are to literally applied this logic to all other profiles and their statistics, then it will cause huge problems so I am afraid I will disagree with Sera and DT on this as we have a feat section and just need to have links to the feats that are calculable. Not all feats are calculated as it depends so much on external and internal factors in different verses such as Gears of War being the example.

Peach, I am aware. Just know that not all feats can be calculated otherwise I will have the Hammer of Dawn put at FTL just because it blitzed four ships within seconds.

Just remember I happen to be the guy who talk off topic stuff.
