So uh...

Guts shoots Mettaton to death? Or he gets close and bisects Mettaton? Or he throws a bomb?

Don't get me wrong soul attacks are good, but not only is Dragonslayer perfect for swatting things out of the air or blocking them, but Mettaton is at a MASSIVE skill disadvantage and as such cannot survive melee, which is fully in-character for Mettaton to enter, and in fact, his first attack in his fight IS melee. So his first attack here gets him ******* slaughtered by Dragonslayer.

Should I make it Pre-Eclipse Guts or?
It kind of helps since Guts isn't bisecting Mettaton but like, his first attack is still getting up close and personal, and seeing as he's still at a MASSIVE skill disadvantage and a 1.6x or so AP disadvantage, Guts still slaughters him first thing.

Well, Mettaton upscales over his value and was barely affected by the loss of his arms and legs, so he could potentially live long enough to abuse his range?

All right now we have an actual fight!

First of all Mettaton's durability in this form does let him take hits from Dragonslayer, they're gonna hurt a bit cause he can't no-sell them, but it's not gonna bisect him or anything crazy.

What helps Mettaton the most here is his attacks damage the Soul, and his electricity is a nasty boon.

But what gives Guts the edge in the end is his pain tolerance. Mettaton's soul hax doesn't one-shot but it will ******* H U R T, but Guts can power through one or two hits, his skill advantage giving him the edge to beat Mettaton, it will be a fast fight, and not an easy fast, but I think Guts wins more times then not, but he certainly doesn't low-diff.

Guts has ironically took attacks that damaged his soul, badly, and he powered through it for quite some time, and then powered through it again, again.
He needed the armor eventually but that was after awhile, and then an extra fight added in where he got ****** up and was forced to equip it.

I'd assume Guts would be able to do the same thing here and power through major soul damage, at least long enough to win

It should be noted that if Box Mettaton starts flying, Guts is gonna have to rely on his ranged options which wouldn't do much damage to Mettaton

Doesn't Guts have really good Willpower? And Mettaton's soul attacks ain't even like Sans' which at least have DPS, iirc.
So Guts definitely wins.

Yeah I thought so, he just can't get hit too much cause otherwise it will get lethal.

Dude that was when EX was used, but answers anyway.

Yes.

They deal their damage straight-up, it's overall slower but it'll hurt quite a bit, but as said by Chariot Guts can power through that.

Issue is Mettaton can't really do much but throw easily-blockable bombs from the sky for ranged since the rest of his shit deal 0 damage to the soul.

Wait

Why won't Mettaton just shoot Guts with unavoidable electricity to death?

Guts smacking that "unavoidable" hand with a big **** off 7 foot long or so sword thicker then Mettaton's arms.
And then got ******* paralysed by electricity

Jokes away, it's a soul attack and Mettaton uses it in character.

That requires Mettaton's electricity to land. Dragonslayer's hilt isn't conductive and soul attacks aren't currently accepted to be intangible.

Doesn't Mettaton simply aim his hand at enemy and shoots electricity beam?
