Sonic is an independent manifestation of Super Sonic created when Sonic the Hedgehog harnessed the power of the six red Chaos Emeralds of Thoraxia
Super Sonic subsequently attempted to kill Sonic, but vanished before being able to do so, due to running out of Chaos energy
Super Sonic's existence is bound to Chaos energy, meaning he will vanish once his power is depleted.
So, depending on the way he transforms, I think Super Sonic should have 7D dimensional existence. This is not an alternative version. This is Sonic trying to use the Red Chaos Emeralds to unlock Super form, but instead of transferring the Chaos energy into Sonic's body, it Shapes it. It is not physically like Sonic's body and will disappear if Chaos energy runs out. like a transformation leaving its body and becoming its own pure state.
