Martial Peak Novel Cosmology Entry 3: Great Worlds and Great Territories (Inconsistencies, potential Scalings involving Great Worlds, Great Territories and Conclusions at the end)

In the last two entries we learned about cultivation stars and their location within the Star Fields. We then learned about these Star Fields, their designation as lower World and where they originate from. This entry focuses on the next realm within the Martial Peak Cosmology: The Great World, otherwise known as the Universe World and their location within a Great Territory.


A Great World is divided in territories and bigger than Star Fields, having them as nebula in their sky

Beyond Blue Feather Sect, the Star Boundary seemed to be divided into four primary territories split between south, west, north, and east. Each of these territories was unimaginably vast, to the point where even a Dao Source master could spend their entire life travelling and still not see everything in a single territory.

This information allowed Yang Kai to vividly feel the magnificence of the Star Boundary as he realized just how much wider a world it was than the Star Field. Just the words of these three had painted an epic picture before Yang Kai, causing him to yearn for that broader sky.

[This is the Star Boundary, right?] Yang Kai wondered to himself.

As he lay there, looking up, everything he saw seemed so different from what he could see in the Star Field. In the sky, huge, beautiful nebulae of every shape and size stretched out before him.

Such a scene could not be witnessed anywhere in the Star Field. The night sky of the Star Field was only filled with gleaming stars.

Yang Kai could not help showing a thoughtful look.

If that was the case though, could one of the countless nebulae he had seen just now really be the Star Field he had come from? Was that why the shape of that particular nebula was exactly the same as the Star Chart in his Knowledge Sea.

Did that mean the other nebulas were also other Star Fields?

Thinking so, Yang Kai could not help feeling shocked. According to his observations just now, there were almost too many nebulas to count, and if each of them represented a unique Star Field, then this world which was able to see them all was simply too astonishing in size.

The scale and scope of this world were probably so grand that even an Emperor would not be able to see its complete form.

Along the way, he was able to see the various rivers and mountains of the Star Field. The cultivation environment here was far better than any Cultivation Star in his native Star Field, and at night, when he looked up, he could see the clustered, brilliantly glowing nebulae, each representing a lower Star Field.

Each Great World has its unique World Principles / Laws

Although the World Principles between Great Worlds were similar, it was absolutely impossible for them to be identical. Take the Star Boundary and the Demon Realm for example. Their different Principles allowed them to give birth to distinct power systems.

A Universe World with sufficient Martial Dao would have its own Principles and Will.

The World Principles of each world were different, and the only thing they had in common was World Force. In simple terms, this was the power of the World itself made manifest.

Grea Worlds are born within the Universe Furnace, which sprays them out since the since the dawn of existence where they develop their unique Principles over time

These grains of sand were not some simple sand particles, but rather some kind of embryonic Universe World; however, because of the massive pressure and rich Dao Strength in the Infinite River, these Universe Worlds were only in their nascent form and looked like sand in a river bed.

he discovered that what looked like dust in the fog wasn’t what it seemed. The particles were unformed Universe Worlds!

Right then, a grain of sand came flying straight at Yang Kai. Without the pressure from the Universe Furnace, this grain of sand finally revealed its true form. As the distance between Yang Kai and the grain of sand shortened, it quickly transformed into the embryonic form of a Universe World that was no smaller than the Star Boundary.

When he was exploring the depths of the Infinite River, Yang Kai had seen these grains of sand and knew that they were not ordinary. Now that they had left the Universe Furnace, they had finally revealed their true appearance.

The Universe Furnace was still rapidly advancing as more colourful rays continuously shot out of its mouth.

After having calmed himself down, Yang Kai continued chasing after the Universe Furnace, occasionally avoiding the suddenly expanding celestial bodies and Celestial Phenomena that came flying at him.

The source of everything was here, the Universe Furnace!
they all originated from the Universe Furnace, brought about by its eruptions since the dawn of existence.

Each grain was a Universe World. After the grains of sand were spurted from the Universe Furnace, they would reveal their true form.

Yang Kai had been constantly correcting their direction and rushing forward during these last 500 years. The Universe Worlds they encountered along the way indeed had more complete World Principles as predicted.

This Universe Word had its World Principles fully taken shape, and there were now some of the simplest forms of life emerging.

If there was life, it meant that this Universe World had the conditions for life to exist. Perhaps after another million years of evolution, some unique creatures specific to this Universe World would emerge.

Several Great Worlds within the same plane make up a single Great Territory

Hearing that, the maidservant replied, “Replying to the honoured guest, our shop’s Universe Charts are divided into three ranks. The lowest rank ones are of single Great Territories. They include the Universe Worlds that have been discovered as well as important Spirit Provinces of these territories. The middle rank is a map of the known universe, including all the Great Territories that have been discovered. It also includes all the information in the lowest rank maps as well as the locations of all Universe Temples and Territory Gates, making it fairly comprehensive and easy to understand.”

There are thousands of known Great Territories and...

...Great Territories are unique, separated by barriers and exist separate from one another, connected by artificially created gates

and every Great Territory could be seen as a sealed space. There were very thick barriers between the Great Territories to separate them.

The boundary wall had entirely shattered, and from the broken Territory Gate, the aura of another Great Territory flowed through Yang Kai could even sense the chaotic energy fluctuating from the opposite side

With such a gigantic hand stuck in the boundary wall, Yang Kai had no hope to block the Territory Gate again, no matter how proficient he was within the Dao of Space.

Qing Kui pondered for a moment before explaining, “Rumour has it that the Great Territories were not connected with each other in ancient times. Each Great Territory existed independent of the others. Everyone thought that the Great Territory they were in was the entire Universe. However, the Great Experts of ancient times saw through the mysteries of the world and were somehow able to open passageways to other Great Territories, which was how the original Territory Gates came to be, similar to the one in front of us. As more and more Territory Gates appeared, the number of Great Territories they could explore increased

Following that, the world could be seen spinning around them, and as their vision refocused, they realised that they were already in a different Great Territory. The Starry Sky around them had changed and none of them knew how far they had travelled by just passing through the gate.

The boundary walls were a real existence; only, it was difficult for ordinary people to even perceive them.

The places where the Territory Gates were located were essentially gaps in the boundary walls, as well as the portals that connected two Great Territories.

The Great Territories of high power forces contain countless Great Worlds and low tier ones some dozen

Every Cave Heaven and Paradise controlled one or more Great Territories, in which there were countless Universe Worlds; therefore, it wasn’t hard for them to select some youths with exceptional aptitudes to send over.

At present, Void Territory controlled more than a dozen Universe Worlds, each one equivalent to the Star Boundary. As long as he could develop them properly, there was no need to fear not having enough cultivation resources.

There were over a dozen Universe Worlds in Swallowing Seas Territory, each one massive in both size and population.

Inconsistencies

1: Great Worlds are described to have their own world barriers multiple times on several occasions

Every Universe World had an invisible World Barrier. This barrier not only protected the cultivators in this world but also restricted them.

Just like the previous time, after he broke through the World Barrier and entered the Universe World, he could feel the Divine Senses of the local Great Emperors scanning him.

Yang Kai arrived at the Universe World, and after breaking through the World Barrier, he descended upon the continent.

But unlike the Barriers separating Great Territories or lower Starfields within the Great Worl itself, the Great Worlds found inside a Great Territory are located all on the physical same space and can be accessed by anyone at anytime, given enough power, even allowing sensing from within to without and vice versa:

After wandering for half a year, Yang Kai experienced all kinds of dangers in the Outer Universe just as horrifying as the Myriad Facets Insect

He even found a Universe World during this half-year of wandering.

It was a world similar to the Star Boundary, but before he approached, he felt that he was being targeted by several hostile intents.

Clearly, they were the Great Emperors of that world.

2: Similarily how the lower Star Fields within a Great World have been described as boundless, endless, infinite, so are the Great Territories themselves

It took him a month to arrive, and with his current strength, it was hard to tell just how far he was from the Star Boundary. Yang Kai glanced around and everywhere he looked he saw a vast and boundless expanse

Every Great Territory was vast and boundless, so if one had the time to explore a barren nameless territory in hopes of getting lucky, he or she might as well refine Open Heaven Pills instead to strengthen their foundation.

Lang Ya Territory was vast and boundless

But like we learned above, the territories are still finite in space, albeit unfathomable vast, given the nature that they contain an uncountable amount of Great Worlds which themselves are bigger than a regular Universe.

Potential Scalings involing Great Worlds

Some feats for naturally birthed Great Worlds are:

Spirit Gods eating them

According to the jade slip, Giant Spirit Gods ate dead Universe Worlds as they roamed around the Starry Sky. They were normally mild-tempered and would avoid conflict with other people. As long as they were not offended, they were essentially harmless.

Soon, Yang Kai found out Ah Er’s purpose for visiting this place.

The Giant Spirit God had come all the way here for the dead Universe Worlds!

The Giant Spirit God Clan members were known to be powerful yet peaceful. Dead Universe Worlds were their only food. Moreover, they had a special skill that allowed them to catch a whiff of the auras of dying Universe Worlds.

After storing his current haul, Yang Kai looked up and saw that Ah Er had almost finished eating the Universe World.

Being thrown around as refined marbles

With that, she tossed a round bead towards him. There was no fluctuation of power, and it didn’t seem to be an artifact; in fact, it looked like a simple pebble that could be found anywhere in any Universe World.

The Pseudo-Royal Lord who had attacked felt something unusual about the bead the moment his Black Ink Strength made contact. Though others might not have been able to perceive its mystery, he could feel that Xiao Xiao’s bead was unexpectedly heavy, and when combined with the mysterious power from a Ninth-Order Master, he was unable to block it with his punch.

The next instant, the round bead closed in, and although the Pseudo-Royal Lord heard Mo Na Ye, he was too focused on the sense of danger that suddenly and inexplicably overwhelmed him. He did not care anymore, so he punched out again with all his strength.

With a loud bang, the void shook and the Pseudo-Royal Lord grunted as he was sent flying.

At the same time, the bead finally shattered. It was not some sturdy artifact, so it couldn’t withstand the full force of a Pseudo-Royal Lord’s attack.

At the moment when the bead shattered, Space Principles surged wildly. From the remnants of the shattered bead, large Universe Fragments appeared and shot in all directions, causing chaos among the Black Ink Clan.

“An entire Universe World!?” Mo Na Ye exclaimed in a low voice, his eyes full of shock.

Only now did he realise that the bead was not some simple stone, but rather a Universe World refined into an unremarkable appearance through some profound means.

Each Character achieving the Open Heaven High Rank forms a Great World within oneself (especially profound characters exceed the quality of Great World birthed by the Universe Furnace)

Still, she continued, “But, if a cultivator advances into the High-Rank Open Heaven Realm and reaches the Seventh-Order Open Heaven Realm, their Small Universe will transform into an actual Universe World, which is almost indistinguishable from a real Universe World.”

His entire body shuddered at those words, “Almost indistinguishable?”

“The Small Universe of High-Rank Open Heaven Realm Masters can even accommodate living creatures or allow countless people to settle down peacefully in it. It can be said that they themselves are walking Universe Worlds. In fact, most High-Rank Open Heaven Realm Masters will bring living creatures, sometimes even Humans, into their Small Universes once they reach the Seventh-Order Open Heaven Realm. If these living creatures and Humans live and flourish within their Small Universe, then the Small Universe will be filled with life and will experience further development. Since doing so strengthens the Small Universe, it correspondingly strengthens the cultivator as well.”

A fierce shout suddenly rang out from Iron Blood Great Emperor’s side, “Open!”

A violent rumbling sound rang out as Chaos erupted and Heaven and Earth split apart.

The aura of the newly born Universe World spread out in all directions like a thunderstorm, spreading fierce gales and causing everyone’s clothes to flutter.

Potential Scalings involing Great Territories

Some Celestial Phenomenons are singulary as big as a Great Territory

Each Universe World’s birth originated from the Universe Furnace, and each grand and majestic Celestial Phenomenon also stemmed from it.

He couldn’t recognise them at first glance because every Celestial Phenomenon was different. Furthermore, the Celestial Phenomena he came across at the depths of Black Ink Battlefield were massive. The largest Celestial Phenomenon he had seen was just as vast as a Great Territory, and it contained unimaginable danger. Even a Ninth-Order Master or a Royal Lord might not survive if they barged into such a place.

Top Level fighters can destroy entire Great Territories by just existing and collapse them including their barriers by fighting

At that time, Yang Kai was looking to advance into the High-Rank Open Heaven Realm directly and was in search of a source of High-Rank Yin and Yang Element materials. That was when the Proprietress brought out her Universe Chart for him to see. Inside the Universe Chart, there were several Great Territories that were blank, without the markings of any great force. Not even Universe Worlds existed there

Big Brother Huang started speaking but hesitated to continue. As such, Big Sister Lan took over, “Long ago, our consciousnesses were muddled, which resulted in the destruction of many Great Territories, and that’s how the current size of the Chaotic Dead Territory came to be. After we gained sentience, we no longer dared to freely wander about, so we stayed here to avoid harming other places.”

Big Sister Lan, on the other hand, was the one to explain, “The outside world cannot accommodate our existence. If we really leave this place, we will only bring destruction wherever we go. Are you sure you can bear this result?”

On the other side of the Territory Gate, more than ten High-Rank Open Heaven Realm Masters still steadfastly watched over the Chaotic Dead Territory, just like they had been doing for a long time.

As Yang Kai had speculated, the fallout from the fight between the Sun’s Burning Light and Moon’s Serene Glimmer was too horrifying and would affect the neighbouring Great Territories. Once that happened, the entire Great Territory would become a part of the Chaotic Dead Territory.

Therefore, the Cave Heavens and Paradises would always empty the adjacent Great Territories to prevent too many casualties due to the fight. They had been doing this for many, many years now.

When the fight between the Burning Light and Serene Glimmer expanded previously and affected new Great Territories, they would already be empty to begin with; therefore, even though countless Universe Worlds would be destroyed, no casualties had been reported.

That was the reason the cultivators in this Great Territory fled decades ago.

The battle had spanned across countless years, and it still hadn’t stopped up until now. Due to the fight between the two, innumerable Great Territories had been destroyed.

Yang Kai had the urge to ask them why they still started this massive fight that spanned across countless eons and destroyed innumerable Great Territories since they knew no one would be the winner.

Conclusion

Representing the absolute peak of the first half of the cosmology and the most rudimentary baseline of the second half, Great Worlds both contain and exceed all their Star Fields, establishing themselves as their own self contained Multiverse, each having their own distinct laws, principles and Wills.

A collection of these Great Worlds within the same physical space combines into a Great Territory.

Unlike Great Worlds within a Great Territory which exists on the same plane and could be visited through regular travel, Great Territories are uniquely independent from one another, similarily to how Star Fields are and separated by true boundaries, turning each into their own Megaverse, with some containing "countless" Great Worlds. Only over time have the characters in the verse learned that there doesnt exist just their own Great Territory.

The extreme similarity between Great Worlds and Great Territorities to the beginning of the series with Cultivation Stars and Star Fields as well as the realisation that there exist more than their own as well as the inconsistency of them being infinite and boundless is a deliberate introduction for the wider cosmology we will continue to explore in the next entries.

The lonely exploration and the wandering suddenly gave him a long-lost sense of familiarity. Long ago, when he first entered the Starry Sky from Tong Xuan Realm, and then to the Star Boundary from the Star Field, was he not facing the storm alone and eventually overcoming all obstacles spectacularly?

As for scalings, virtually nigh-everyone in the later 2000 chapters of the novel can destroy a Great World by virtue of establishing one inside themselves and killing as well as be killed in one shot, having naturally occuring Great Worlds be relegated to food for higher existances or as distractions to be thrown around.

Celestial Phenomena can be as large as entire Great Territories and only higher tiered fighters manage to destroy Great Territories or, even higher tiered ones, shatter the barriers between them and affect other Great Territories in their clash.

I'm not really sure what you're proposing here. Most of the stuff here is already accepted besides the Great Territories, but nobody besides Sun's Burning Shine & Moon's Nether Glimmer have any statements towards it. They scale beyond it anyways, although their justification is currently wrong, and I'll change it after this thread passes.

The cosmology being put in one place and understanding it for scaling purposes is helpful, even when it does not have an immediate affect on the scalings of characters we already have, as the following feats or scalings can be used as a reference point. Especially the Great Worlds csomology, which you say are not yet fully explored on the Wiki, are important, as in the current ranking they are treated as Universes and not as Multiverses. In addition it is important to support Dimensionality questions.

For example, in the Star Field Saga we had the idea of potential high-dimensionality in regards to people like Wu Kuang, a Great World character, who refines Universes to Board Games.

Now we have Great Worlds themselves being shown to be of lesser dimensionality as they are born within and exist just inside another character.

Every instance we categoritze is important for the legitimacy and easy to understand scaling, especially when the potential upgrade reaches the upper echelons of the 1-tier, where questions from our tiering system like:

What tier is transcending dimensions or What tier is being the source of dimensions

need to be answered and are common. Showing just some select quotes may not help to make people understand the scope of the verse from a wider angle.

Outside of the dimensionality question which is required to be answered for the absolute God-Tiers, the easy to understand scaling for the rank and file characters means they get upscaled from Tier X for being able to destroy one or several Great Worlds (currently treated as a Universe) to Tier Y (now treated as a Multiverse).
