Manor's Attic (Roleplay)

A noise echoed through the seemingly endless hallway: the soft, pitter-patter of something small and lithe scuttling over hardwood. It blended into the shadows of the hall, so much so that those without enhanced senses would not immediately notice its shape. But regardless of when it had been seen...

A small rat would appear near the party. Its fur was a smooth, flawless black, like an obsidian shined for display. It moved itself to the far wall—nose twitching, eyes silently taking in the strange figures before it.

"Already offended? So much for a king. I can hurt you in more ways than just throwing insults you antique.", he clapped back.

"Ironic considering your current state."
"You insolent little...!" He started, before pausing to think on what he had actually said. Starting to chuckle slightly, he responded, "I suppose that is fair. Though, I do wonder how you knew I was already a king? Perhaps my legacy is not forgotten after all. Or perhaps....." Kyros smirked, already picking up on the distinct feeling of Haki emanating from the creature.

Kyros took notice of the rat, and sensed an eerie, dark presence inside of it. One of near pitch blackness and death....even compared to his own.

"That vermin....does it feel off to any of you as well?"

"Perhaps we have more in common than you initially thought? We were both born with power greater than the common man, faced tragedies, moulded by our suffering, and became leaders. The similarities end there.", he spoke calmly while still trying to focus to see into the future.

Being in that... hellscape for a long time seemed to have diminished his abilities, making him struggle to use them effectively like he usually could. Mea would eventually just give up if he didn't receive a vision.

"What? Oh... What are you talking about old man? It's just a rat. Don't tell me you're afraid of a harmless animal?", he asked.

It was an act of course. In truth, he could sense the power and wickedness coming from the rodent as well. Mea was simply playing dumb to deceive it, knowing that the king who had the same abilities as him could also read his thoughts.
