Mahoraga vs Regulus Corneas

I mean, that's description of his power or in the series they would have made it explicit that he adapts only to cursed techniques, JJK is the kind of series that says that kind of things and this kind of thing would be listed in the profile's weaknesses or description of the technique, make a CRT to add this weakness if you want
But they did. He never adapted to anything that's not originated from a Cursed Technique. I won't make any thread because that's how it works.

Mahoraga has never “adapted to all phenomena”, every time he adapted was because a Cursed Technique hit him.

He doesn’t adapt to physical stats or anything besides CTs.

For Mahoraga to adapt to the outer space he’d need to be affected by a CT with the same effect. He wouldn’t develop anything to come back.

Adapted to all kinds of slash attacks = Shrine

Adapted to gravity = Blue

The only time this rule was broken was in the anime and afaik that’s not canon.
I read a thread here that the anime should be treated as secondary canon. Here https://vsbattles.com/threads/jujutsu-kaisen-anime-canonicity.145530/

If something from the anime contradicts the manga then the manga takes priority. Truth is Sukuna Vs Mahoraga didn't last anywhere as long as it did in the anime and Maho didn't have that badass scene where he was casually strolling through Malevolent Shrine.
It wasnt 1:1 but the core of the scene was the same, mahoraga was getting less and less affected by sukuna's shrine and was starting to regenerate through it.

I'm fairly surprised I haven't seen the regular show supporters here yet for this thread at all.

Not approved by admins and besides, even in the thread itself it's contested.
Not knowledgeable on both sides but just curious enough to step in.
Well that sucks lol. I still dont think mahoraga's adaptation is related to cursed techniques but theres no proof of that ig.

He wouldn't have enough time to adapt to Regulus' Authority because the latter would oneshot him if he lands a good attack.

Maho's adaptation to Shrine was also slower in the anime, since it was constantly being liquified by Sukuna, which contradicts the manga

can yall start posting the matchups in the general discussion threads so supporters actually know of the existence of these matchups 😭

On a side note i was just thinking about this matchup, i think Regulus would probably be able to just do a massive AoE attack which would wipe Maho out before he can do anything meaningful. My main reasoning for this is because of how common it is for Regulus to start with AoE (Carpet bombed Pandora, attacked with a rain of death in arc 5, destroyed 1/3rd of the city killing 10k people in Garkla etc.)
He also gets more creative in using his authority the more you annoy him so if Maho starts with trying to punch or kick Regulus it wouldnt take long for him to whoop his ass

If Maho manages to survive long enough though i could definitely see him adapting to his attacks and maybe even attaching his resistance to his own attacks to try and kill Regulus

I think this is a comfortable victory for Regulus

Can I get a link to the general discussions thread

Just curious, I've heard that Regulus can be knocked around, pushed and stuff despite his body having its time stopped, or am I just tripping?

Uh, tbf, in the manga, Malevolent Shrine literally completely shredded Mahoraga, and he had to regenerate back from it rapidly. Though not rapidly enough for him to be completely fine when the Shrine was down considering we still see parts of him dusted before Sukuna hits him with a Open with narrator stating his regeneration was nearly complete.

In the middle panel here, you can see half of Mahoraga was literally reduced to dust by Malevolent Shrine:

Manga does make the adaptation process seem quicker though, ye. But it def wasn't instant since Mahoraga was still blended into dust particles before starting to adapt and regenerate.

Say, why doesn't Maho have higher than Mid regeneration again? Is it because he only gained it during his fight with 15F Sukuna and lost it when he died?

I dunno 🤷‍♂️. He should have the same regeneration he had when he fought Sukuna. The only ways Mahoraga has ever been destroyed is through completely vaporizing him (Furnace, and Unlimited Purple).
