I have been curious since the airing of season two of Stranger Things (when I first started watching the show) about how much energy it would take to influence/disrupt the Earth's magnetic field in such a way that it causes lights to flicker within an entire city and compasses to point towards say a portal (that takes more energy than what wa smade in 1983 to create) instead of true north. I am unable, and have been unable, to come across the information needed for this and I think it would make a fine bit of trivia for the trivia section of this page.

Is there anyone who can possibly find out this information?
