Layered-Resistance. What is it?

Is there a wiki page that explains Layered Resistances?

Can anyone actually define it? I keep seeing people mention but I have no idea what they mean.

Say you’re character A and yohr ability is time stop.

Say character X resists the time stop ability from character A. This means that character X has time stop resistance.

Now say another character, named Y this time, also has time stop. And their time stop is so strong it can work on character X. This means character Y has layered time stop powers.

Now finally, say there’s a fourth character named character N who resists the layered time stop ability from character Y. This means character N has layered resistance to time stop.

Did that example help?

Layers of resistance in general in fictional context represents increasing degrees of difficulty or obstacles that need to be surpassed. If there is a layered ability X, and someone resisted it, he gains a layered resistance to the said ability X.

There is no need for a page.
