Layered abilities are abilities which can bypass a level of resistance through being more "potent" than the resistance itself.
An example of this would be someone who resists their soul getting manipulated by one ability, but another ability bypasses that resistance and manipulates their soul. The ability which bypassed that person's resistance would be considered as a "layered ability".
