So, uh. Can Piccolo actually hurt Korra? Her body in this state is a physical projection that only seemed to get hurt when Unavaatu shot spirit energy beams at her, and when he almost poisoned her astral self through spiritbending, which would have destroyed her soul.

The first thing I will point out is the big difference in lifting strength, Korra is M class, while Dragon Ball characters revolve around K class, people stronger than King Piccolo are K class, if Korra traps Piccolo, he won't escape.

There was that one part where Gotenks created some ghosts. Was Buu able to interact with them with his attacks? I can't remember.

Also, I believe that Korra has the ability to knock the air out of his lungs like some airbenders manage to do in the series, although this is not in character.

Also it seems King Piccolo has no resistance to cold or heat and considering that Korra can Lava bend, Freeze him with Water bend or burn him with Fire bend this is also an advantage. (By the way, why the **** does Korra not have temperature manipulation in her profile?)

Well, according to Toriyama, ki comes from energy, mind, and body. In some interviews he says it also comes from the spirit, but he could also be talking about fighting spirit.

Well yeah but it's still not Gotenks' soul or any kind of soul. It's not like the spirits in Avatar/LOK

Well, Korra still has plenty of one-shot wincons, being able to use the heat of fire or lava to kill him, freeze him and possibly knock the air out of his lungs...

In addition to the lifting strength advantage.

If King Piccolo is captured, he will not be able to break free.

Funny that Korra has a Wincon for each element - Water = Freeze King Piccolo to death;

Earth = Burn Piccolo with lava bend;

Fire = Burn piccolo with fire bend;

Air = Choke Piccolo with Air bend.

She may also go for spiritbending when she realizes how evil Piccolo is.

And his ki blasts would probably be able to be redirected with energybending (speaking of which, I need to add attack reflection to the avatar profiles).

Piccolo's best best option would be to melee her to death, but that would also put him in range of being power nulled.

King Piccolo can also freely fly can't he? And has some skills by besting Tien and Master Roshi in his prime (and his master too)

Korra though is also very skilled on her own in bending martial arts (since bending moves are based on actual martial arts), and the Avatar state allow her to gain the knowledge of her past lifes and/or Raava

Apparently the only way for him to defeat her is to approach, so flight doesn't seem like much use.
