I know Kirin isnt accepted as lightning speed on this wiki but why? can someone possibly post the thread in which it was deemed so or give a quick explanation, im curious.

some users were complaining that we dont accept it? this was a few months ago, it was on some Naruto thread... I only thought of it now, thats the main reason why i was asking.

As far as i know we do accept it, and if we dont then we should as it fits the qualifications of our new electrical attacks rule

i think the controversy comes from the fact that No one really scales from it, otherwise we would Have MHS+ Itachi and Sasuke

Shrug Dunno. Like i said, it should be lightning speed but im not exactly the most familiar with Naruto.

If I recall correctly, it was accepted as lightning speed.

However, a ton of users said it was faster than lightning speed, citing something Kishimoto wrote about it reaching the ground in 1/10000th of a second or something like that and trying to use that to bump up the entire verse to Massively Hypersonic+ even though it was more than likely just a case of a writer like Kishimoto being bad at math. This part was the one that wasn't accepted.

If Kishimoto states that lightning in his universe moves at a certain speed, shouldn't we use that as opposed to lightning in real life?

@Rage

Probably not given that it's supposed to act like lightning and Kishimoto can't do math like most authors.

@Rage

If they're meant to be real bullets, yes. We use the closest real-world equivalent we can find.

That is odd, when ever I bring up bullets people are always saying "Bullets in fiction are often way stronger and way faster than real life bullets, you can't use real life to limit things" or such. It is odd it is the reverse for Lightning, at least in my experience.

@Rage

That's an entirely different issue.

Bullet AP rarely correlates with real life, but we tend to use real-life bullet speed if it is applicable to the characters in question.

If they have better movement speed feats, we'll use those.

However, Kishimoto has not been consistent with his use of physics or the capabilities of the abilities he's writing, so it's best to disregard the 1/10000th of a second statement.
