Ken Kaneki (Úçæµ£¿ þáö, Kaneki Ke) is the protagonist of Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul:re.
Formerly, he was a human studying Japanese Literature at Kamii University and living a normal life. However, everything soon changed after he had Rize Kamishiro's kakuhou transplanted into him and became a one-eyed ghoul.[6] After joining Anteiku as part-time waiter, he learned how to live as a ghouland became known as Eyepatch (þ£╝Õ©», Gantai).
After being captured by Aogiri Tree, he underwent a drastic personality change, forming a team with the goal of protecting the ones precious to him and exterminating people who threatened the place he belonged to. Because of his Kakuja's distinct appearance, the CCG gave him the nicknameCentipede (þÖ¥ÞÂ│, Mukade).[7]
He is currently living under the identity of Haise Sasaki (õ¢ÉÒÇൣ¿ þÉ▓õ©û, Sasaki Haise), an Associate Special Class Ghoul Investigator that formerly served as the mentor of the CCG's Quinx Squad. His memories were initially lost to him, but regained during the Tsukiyama Extermination Operation. Six months after the operation, ghouls have come to know him by the moniker of Black Reaper (Ú╗ÆÒü«µ¡╗þÑ×,Kuro no Shinigami).
Ganta Igarashi (õ║öÕìüÕÁÉ õ©©Õñ¬) a.k.a Woodpecker, is the main protagonist of the series. He is the son of Sorae Igarashi and the childhood friend of Shiro. Because of his Deadmapowers, he was sent to Deadman Wonderland. There, he swore vengeance on the "Red Ma", for framing him ofmurdering his classmates.
