I’m ngl the S5 Final battle has hilarious anti feats for heat vision heat where now all the sudden it’s only knocking people around

But yeah it’s hotter than what Ayato can handle.
Problem is Homelander’s skill is kinda buns and he doesn’t know how strong Ayato is immediately so Homelander will rush him thinking he can out muscle Ayato. Ayato will QuickDraw his sword and Homelander will be dead.

But realistically Ayato can just dodge the laser and retaliate with a mid range water slash or something.
Which makes it a whole hits who first if we treat heat like it’ll one shot

Dodging? He’s fought surprisingly little, he mainly leeches off of his Little Sister’s swordsmanship skill feats of being praised by Raiden Shogun (who invented all of her country’s swordsmanship styles) and can negative diff Fatui soldiers sent to assassinate him some using firearms above their combat speed. Well he’s also generally vaguely got a lot of training from childhood in swordsmanship (Genshin skill is undercooked unless you’re Raiden or Surtalogi)

He does boost his speed when he gets into his quick drawing stance and can just machine gun slashes out like that.

Homelander in character doesn’t make kilometer wide beams often even though he can. And since he doesn’t know Ayato’s strength level asap. I don’t see why he’d go go full force like that.
Wait nvm. They’re 5m apart only. The distance between them should be widened. Ayato quick draws and decapitates this close.

Edit: Nvm his range is only 3m. Homelander will eventually engage in melee combat so I don't think it matters either way.

Otherwise those nachos get reheated and I can just say Ayato shrugs it off from being hundreds of thousands of times more durable

Here. But its prob about how heat and kinetic energy are closely interlinked in irl physics. Meteors produce alot of heat when they strike things and cause of thermodynamics when energy is applied to an object (even a punch) that energy will be redistributed into heat, sound, deformation (bending, squishing etc). So someone who can take low 7-B kinetic impacts is unlikely to be burnt by an 8-A laser from the sheer gap or something.
