I have doubts that this CRT will be accepted or applied, but I figured I might aswell give it a shot now that the series is over. No I am not arguing for Kashimo lol
For those who don't know, there is an ability/cursed technique that Angel, her vessel Hana, and Yuta uses that's called Jacob's Ladder which is basically them firing a pillar of light at the opponent. This CRT will detail how the cursed technique is real light by using the guidelines for laser beams and what it entails for overall scaling of the verse, with the conclusive argument that the speed of light is constant aswell.
Right off the bat, I will just say this technique does not satisify these criteria
Without further ado, let's get started
Criteria 1:
Criteria 2:
Criteria 3:
Adressing Anti-Feat Rule Page
2. It's not shown to be tangible and in fact Gege goes out of his way to show that it isn't tangible by having Sukuna and Hana being inside the light, the rubble Sukuna throws up aswell
3. Every time it is shown, it travels in a straight line. Refraction was already proven in Criteria 2.
Now, I noticed these little words when reading the laser beam criteria page
This would mean that I can show other qualities of it and how light has the same quality for a similar feat (the opposite would be true for the opposers of this CRT)
Other Criteria
Lasers and sunlight, which Jacob's Ladder is compared to, can give people burn marks of different degrees, which Jacob's Ladder is stated to be able to do (and we see it happening to an extreme degree the first time anyway)
Scaling + Conclusion
Nobody in the verse would scale to it, atleast not in combat speed as that is pretty evident when we have the god tiers of the verse literally getting blitzed by it (and said god tiers are a blitz level above the users). This would only serve to give Speed of Light Attack Speed to Hana, Yuta and Angel (this could also serve as a further anti-feat to the known JJK lightspeed meta which I'm sure you all are familiar with). Again, I don't expect this to be accepted but I wanted to give it a shot in the dark just in case.
PS: Yes I know it's already accepted that Hana has light manipulation, but I just wanted to add this extra aswell

And I'm not gonna lie, if it did then we'd have this discussion way earlier, so I need to show further justifiation in hopes of it satisfying this alternate criteria instead
- The beam is called lightspeed by reliable sources (Reason: Non-existent).
- It has its origin at a realistic source of light, such as a camera (Reason: It shows up from the sky from activating energy from a human, that's very much unrealistic).
Should there be great evidence in favor of the light being real or lightspeed, comparably minor showing against it being real can be overruled.
Without further ado, let's get started
Criteria 1:
In chapter 213 and 264, Sukuna and Hana/Angel both state that Jacob's Ladder is light or "radiance", which is defined as diffusion of rays of light so it basically means the same thing. Hana is a reliable source because it's her technique, and Sukuna is also one because he uses logical evidence to deduct that it is light. The statements both use the "hikari" kanji aswellIt is stated to be composed/consisting of photons or light itself, again by a reliable source
Criteria 2:
If we use this image as a basis for what light diffusion should look like in real life (source: Reddit thread talking about the concept), we see that Jacob's Ladder diffuses and refracts light every time it is used in both chapters but also chapter 251
- The beam diffuses in a reasonably realistic way or reflects off a material that it can be expected to, such as a non-magical mirror.
Criteria 3:
The reasoning for it refracting light is in the same justification for it diffusing radiance
- The beam refracts in a new material, such as a liquid or...
Adressing Anti-Feat Rule Page
1. Nothing entails it has a certain canon speed or different speeds in air, the only thing that was stated is that it's output was different when Hana used it the second time; which honestly I don't see how CE Output has to do with speed, there's nothing implying it does but rather it's implied for Attack Potency (hence the comparison between it literally scorching 15F Sukuna and it barely burning Shinjuku Sukuna) which is irrelevant in this discussion
- It is shown at different speeds in the same material.
- It is tangible and can be interacted with physically by normal humans.
- They do not travel in straight lines (unless you can prove refraction/reflection, see above.)

This is not a full list of qualities that can qualify/disqualify a feat as a true laser/light beam, but they are what is taken as basic by this wiki.
This would mean that I can show other qualities of it and how light has the same quality for a similar feat (the opposite would be true for the opposers of this CRT)
