Oh are the crossovers canon?
The AVP and Batman crossovers are canon to Dredd, but not the other way around. Don't think they add much other than possible pages though.

The Nemesis, Flesh, and Sin-Eater crossovers might just be dual canon since Dredd is referenced throughout them (and vice versa). At least, that's how im treating it. Early 2000 AD was vaguely connected, which mostly lead to series being canon to Dredd in some capacity.

Found this

It's a strip written by the creator of Judge Dredd that seemingly namedrops places n Dredd's setting as places here, seemingly making them in the same canon.

If that's accepted, then it fuels my theory that 2000 AD was intended to be a shared universe in the early days but eventually abandoned. Satanus for example has appeared in multiple other series as the same character and references characters from the other ones within them (for example, One-Eyed is a Flesh character they reference extensively in his Dredd appearances, and they reference Dredd a few times in his run as a character in Nemesis)

Admittily the difference between cute crossover or cameo and potential canon is tricky

This wouldn't really affect tiers or cosmology, though II may need to revise the verse page down the line

I'm of two minds.
On one hand, you'd think a much smaller publication with only two on-goings would keep track of their characters...on the other hand, 2000 AD characters don't get documented super well outside of storyindexes and the like. I think the most jarring thing was his "final story" (or lack there of(?)). In 2007, that serves as a little retrospective on Dredd's enemieis as apart of the 50 year anniversary, with them showing Mean Machine was simply too old to be a danger to society nowadays because his machinary broke down...except we've had stories as recently as 2005 or so where he was just fine...

...And then there was a story in 2015 where he was an old man who was still active and doing quite well foro himself as a good guy...

Also his son never aged in the 7 or so years he was a recurring character, that was weird.
