Introduction

Finally, after months of on-and-off discussion on the Discord server I created in the wake of the Verse Overhaul that was announced months ago, we can finally start on properly rebuilding the Honkai 3rd verse on this wiki. We'll be going over three main talking points in this post; the first two being related to each other, and the third being some guidelines to maintain a certain standard for any new profiles being made. But if you don't particularly care for the details and just want to know what tier we've settled on, just see the tl;dr below.

TL;DR Everything in Honkai 3rd is 4-A, except for the absolute trash-tier of Honkai Beasts that never once managed to harm a named character.

Elysia's Land of Origin

The first thing of note is the most important. This is the feat that decided the primary tier of the verse, and will likely remain for the foreseeable future.

As revealed in the Herrscher of Corruption arc of the main story, Elysia created the Land of Origin, a world in imaginary space that contains a starry sky. Starry sky feats have long been considered Multi-Solar System level (4-A) on this wiki based on a bunch of practically ancient calcs, so no real need to make another one.

Some people on the server have brought up the possibility that the stars in the Land of Origin are not real. However, after much discussion, we've come to conclusion that there is no real evidence to support this claim. The stars are never implied to be anything but real stars, and the only cosmological argument against them being real stars is a scan from Durandal's Visual Novel stating that the stars observable from bubble worlds are not real stars, but are instead other bubble worlds; which is obviously non-applicable in this case because the Land of Origin is not a bubble world, nor is it located in the Sea of Quanta.

Furthermore, it is illogical to immediately suspect the stars as being fake purely on the basis of them not being explicitly stated as real. A star should be a real star if it's called one, and burden of proof falls onto those who would claim otherwise. Unless there is reasonable cause to believe they are fake, of which I've found none after multiple re-watches, then the stars should be considered real.

Additionally, the stars themselves being used as a vehicle for metaphor doesn't inherently make the stars themselves purely metaphorical visuals. A lightning strike can be used as a metaphor for countless things (impermanence, power, wrath of nature, etc.), but doing so would not inherently discredit the lightning strike from being real lightning. The same principle would apply here. Stars are often used as metaphor for fate and destiny, due to the existence of astrology as an idea, but this would not imply the stars to be fake.

Thus, Elysia's creation feat would be 4-A.

Scaling Chains

The second thing of note is in direct relation to the first.

After considering the sheer interconnection present in the scaling chains, it is clear that all notable characters in Honkai 3rd would be 4-A from back-scaling off of Elysia's creation feat.

While this may sound ludicrous at first (trust me, we know), the scaling chain speaks for itself.

Going backwards from Elysia, we know that Kevin is generally closely superior to her in terms of power. He is unquestionably the strongest warrior during the Previous Era, and Elysia herself claims that he is a little bit stronger than she is. Thus, taking into account Kevin's stated strength, as well as the fact that Kevin would become stronger by the end of the current main story, Kevin is obviously 4-A himself.

Kevin would be harmed by multiple characters during Chapter 35. Not to any noteworthy extent (at least prior to the main trio's final battle with him), but him being harmed would naturally show that the characters doing the harming would also be 4-A. Senti is one of these characters. While she is noted to have grown stronger than she was during the Herrscher of Sentience arc, she should not be overwhelmingly so, as her ability to have grown stronger was a very recent circumstance born from the Kolosten arc, which took place not very long ago from that point in time.

During the Herrscher of Sentience arc, Senti was harmed by characters such as peak-performance Void Drifter Kiana, who is repeatedly displayed as physically comparable, with Senti only overwhelming her with their sheer difference in martial skill. This Void Drifter Kiana would not be significantly stronger than her Herrscher of the Void form from Chapters 8 and 9 (if at all, the specifics of this part of the scaling is still being discussed). Chapter 9's HoV was harmed by Shadow Knight Fu Hua in her Eclipse Mode, which she was shown to need in order to quickly defeat Benares. Benares itself was harmed by a Scarlet Fusion Himeko outside of her Full Nexus mode, who should not be overwhelmingly more powerful than her base form, which was able to assist in defeating Wotan, which White Comet Kiana and Crimson Impulse Mei were both also able to damage.

While the gaps are admittedly larger in certain areas than this summary may make it seem, the fact that all of these statistics can be connected in a singular cohesive scaling chain would imply that the power gaps are nowhere near enough to account for a 1,000,000x multiplier between Chapter 9 Herrscher of the Void and Elysia. This isn't even taking into account the fact that the creation feat itself was seemingly done with little to no effort from Elysia herself, which would imply an even larger multiplier to justify any of these characters being less than Tier 4-A.

Outside of the fodder enemies that have never been shown to be capable of harming a character on this chain, everything in Honkai 3rd would thus be Multi-Solar System level.

Profile Guidelines

With the scaling talk out of the way, we can finally talk about how we can go about creating profiles for the verse.

For the sake of minimizing future headaches (god knows only one other person besides myself has actually started working on profiles after the purge), it would be appreciated if those with the intent to create profiles would follow the below as closely as reasonably possible:
  1. Only create profiles which you plan to make matches for, or that you believe would be popular enough for matches to be made for them.

  2. If not the above, then only create profiles for characters/weapons that you believe would be important as references for scaling.

  3. When creating profiles, please sandbox them first and either put up the link for discussion in a thread, like what Enryu did for Elysia, or post the link in the Discord server's page discussion channel (the link is at the bottom of this post). Please save us the headache of editing low-quality profiles. This also prevents people from accidentally working on the same profile and wasting time and effort.

  4. When writing the Powers & Abilities section, try not to repeat multiple entries of the same ability, unless there is a very significant increase in its potency between keys, or if the repeat ability comes from a different source of power. Make sure to also check the Honkai Energy page, as many standard abilities are already present there.
Beyond the above, just generally keep to a high standard. Make sure to include scans, avoid grammar and spelling errors, and explain things clearly.

Conclusion

With all of that concluded, we should be able to start on actually getting to rebuilding this verse.

I'd still like to recommend people to join the Discord Server to stay the most up-to-date with all of our discussions, access to all of our compiled scans, and to save everyone the trouble of having to make and answer questions threads and CRTs for every little thing. Seriously, it's way more efficient.

That said, please try to only join if you actually plan to contribute.

Where is the scan for the statement/feat of said character creating the place with the starry sky?

There isn't really one. We're just shown it appearing alongside Elysia. It's called the Land of Origin, which is intrinsically tied to Elysia, her being the first Herrscher of Origin. She summons it when she enters her burst mode in-game, so does Herrscher of Origin Mei, and it's treated as an inherent part of her Authority.

We assume she created it because there isn't anywhere else it could've come from. A place called the Land of Origin that's part of the Authority of Origin couldn't exist prior to Elysia, since the Herrscher of Origin wasn't meant to exist to begin with.

If we see it appear with her then there is a scan right?

It's more like the CG of the space appears upon cutting into a new scene where Elysia starts talking about being a Herrscher. I could send a video of Elysia's in-game ult summoning the space, but that's moreso bringing people into the space and less her actually creating it. Her initially creating it was off-screen.

Hmmm. Well, I'm honestly not sure then.

@DarkDragonMedeus

Do you think 4-A is warranted from what is stated in the OP?

I just want to point out that there is a statement that the dimension of stars is created by Elysia.

At 6:05 (adding subtitles) it states that the world which appears while she uses her Ultimate, which she uses in the story during her fight with Mei too, is actually created by Elysia herself.

Ah this is perfect. Thanks Thanatos.

That's perfect, I think 4-A is good now. Does the verse have an energy system or something that scales this to the other statistics?

Honkai Energy. It varies a lot based on application and skill level, and the amount a character can manipulate is hard-capped by their level of resistance to it, but basically every ability in the verse is tied to it, or can at least be replicated by it - save one very specific exception in the Selene.

Ok Then, the update is fine with me.
