"tore through the air", doesn't mean "break through the atmosphere", as the atmosphere talked about is in regards to escape velocity, that is not what's happening in the text. While in that screenshot, all it's saying is he punched hard basically, tore through the air ain't an uncommon phrase, it's used quite often in regards to things like bullets as well (obviously not escape velocity), and even less things, it just means something, in this case a punch, was launched or thrown through air violently.

The force of the punch could be calced but it'd be like a solid, 10-A probably? Punching someone so hard that the pressure blows their long hair.
