So I am planning to make a profile page for the protagonist (and possibly the antagonist) of the movie Versus. And the zombies of this film are able to casually perform these feats. Which here are known as “Digging up from the Underground"
I know this kind of feat was questioned and debated some time ago but from what I understood (And the page itself states) is that the literal "Digging up from the Underground" is not valid because digging implies displacement over time, but a quick bursting out is completely valid. The name of this feat should then be “Bursting from the Underground” btw.
As seen in the provided clips, these zombies did not dig. They violently and instantly erupt from under the packed forest soil, exploding outward and throwing debris into the air. This constitutes an instantaneous breakout, making it a legitimate Fragmentation or even Violent Fragmentation.
And the feat itself matches the calc to a T.
The zombie in the first video for example seems to be about the same height (maybe a bit taller) to that of the protagonist, Prisoner KSC2-303 (played by Tak Sakaguchi), who is exactly 175cm. As seen in the first video, the zombie bursts out from a fully upright position, meaning the depth of the soil column covers his entire height.
This is not loose, uncompacted sand or soft soil either. Throughout the film, characters run, sprint, jump, and are forcefully thrown onto this exact forest floor without any visible sinking or displacement. The ground is highly consolidated and structurally firm.
So I believe this checks all the wiki's requirements for a valid bursting calculation because the timeframe is instantaneous and the soil is completely fractured and launched rather than slowly displaced.
